Audi is VAG's golden goose. Porsche want to pry audi out of VW's hands. If they did so theyw ould be the worlds number 1 premium manufacturer.

Audi will be worlds number 1 premium manufacturer by 2015. Only reason why BMW sells more cars than audi world wide is because americans dont buy audi's for some reason.

VW isnt as well off as people think. You are correct.

Audi sales success is well deserved. Top cars, might get an RS4 next year if no new 350Z's come along with 340bhp+

Great news from Germany here! Congrats to Ingolstadt.

Every time you copy an paste its from source from another country, which is pretty much meaningless since, if you haven't guessed already, we're in the UK! Pitty Audi and VAG as a whole don't do so well in the UK!!

japanese cars are boring on whole though, and simpler. Plus theres higher expectations froma german driver, if something goes wrong on their more expensive vehicle they are more liekly to make noise about it.

I'd beg to differ, in that I am having some issues with my 34 month old Impreza, and I'll be shouting from the rooftops if I don't get a satisfactory conclusion. You may be confusing the makes of cars for the values of car. A 10K car owner has less expectations than a 20-40K car owners expectations.
The way I have been treated at my Subaru dealer is far from satisfactory, and I know that the way we help customers in the Merc garage that I work in is far better than the way I have been treated (and apparently we treat customers far better than the Audi owned and built "centre of excellence" that is on the outskirts of Glasgow)

Yes, Mercs built in the 2000-2005 period did have reliability problems, but these are becoming rarer and rarer, whilst the VAG group don't seem to be able to be able to reduce the problems still poping their ugly heads up, and this info is from boys on the workshops themselves, not some PR department.
In fact, as a general note, the Daimler Chrysler group are setting high targets for their future CSI scores, and at the head of that in the prestige group are Jaguar.
Incidentally, it must be BMW that are having disappointing sales, as in Glasgow, we can't get the Mercs out of the door quick enough.
