You can tell that from me getting cramp once ?
Football players, some of the fittest people in the country get it, marathon runners get it as do overweight computer programmers digging trenches in the back garden.
As for it being age related, nah, dont get it any more or less than I used to.
Feel quite good after the fresh air and exercise, good job as I have a lot to do still. Not least laying 45 paving slabs, 9 down 36 to go !

You could need more calcium.
I get this recurring cramp since I slipped a disc a couple of years back. Did some big time damage somewhere in there and it's led to weakness in the leg muscles.
Can empathise with anyone who suffers with this .

Still hurts like hell tho' if it's only once or every frippin' week. Diet sounds good. And yes, I'm the same, no colds hardly ever these days.

Had it once in the throat, and the only way to get rid of it seamed to be to try to swallow, which i remember being hard as hell and hurt quite a bit.

Usually the result of dehydration:

How can leg cramps be prevented?
- Stay Hydrated
It is not well known exactly how dehydration and muscle cramping are related, but it is known that dehydration can predispose to leg cramps. Drink at least three full glasses of water each day, including one before bedtime. Also drink plenty of fluid before, during, and after exercise.

Leg cramp is nasty. Only had it in my thigh once and it was agony... felt like the muscle was going to pop. That's when I was on the toilet trying to take a crap, so consider yourself lucky. Lol

I thought this was known as "Drinkers cramp".
I only seem to get it after a heavy session. I wake, then BANG! My leg is snapped back. It's agony, followed by swearing and hopping.

Only get cramp now if very exhausted from work, like walking up and down stairs all day...in hot weather. Might wake up with a cramped calf.

It is certainly very unpleasant and can feel uncontrollable. I find that if you are alive to it starting and move the muscles in the opposite direction quickly and hold it, it will often go away.
