YES.

But existing animals that are already owned should not be destroyed unless they (Or the owners) are proved to be dangerous. If they live docile lives, then they should live it out to the full.

Female dogs should be speyed and both sexes allowed to die out naturally, ceasing the breed.

Thats the only way they will stop the pitbull being breed,but theres so much going on underground ( fighting etc..) that will be hard.

I'm also a staffie owner and the staff is one of only 2 breeds classed by the KC as being good with children.

Unfortunately ignnorance and media involvement has persicuted the breed due to a couple of incidents a few years ago.

Yes, historically the stafford was bred as a fighting dog but as time has gone on it has been pulled away from such evil and is now build wise to small to be so.

I have to say that I have had problems with other breeds bullying my dog, but if mine was to retalliate I would be blamed because of persicution.

Any dog can kill if trained/treated to do so.

It's probably already been said.

Reintroduce dog licenses with a decent yearly tarrif regardless of dog type.

With the revenue that brings employ people to visit homes with certain "nasty breeds" and check they are suitably treated etc.

No animal should be tatally outlawed but kept in a secure environment with some of the current owners ie A ZOO.

You know sara the funny thing is, where I live (where the pitbull killed poor Ellie), the thieves etc actually don't know the difference between Turbo and non turbo scoobs, as a sport was stolen at gunpoint a few miles from me last month

But, they do know what a pitbull is, and what a staffie is, hence the drug dealers have Pit Bulls not Staffies

 

Also found out tonight that Ellie's Grandmothers dad allegedly used to expose himself to the kids on the estate where they live, and that they have been part of drugs dealing etc most of their lives
