The RS4 is a very good car, ticks allot of boxes.
But the new M3 will move the game on, then Audi will need to catch up again.
It's the way it's been for a while...

Contigo -Very nice indeed.
A mate has just got a black one and is getting MTM to supercharge it once they are ready.
He reckons the low down torque is a bit lame (!!!!)
AudiLover - You are a joke. For the last 10+ years Audis have handled badly.
Yes they are built very well and often go very well in a straight line but they generally understeer like hell and have zero steering feel.
The RS4 (not driven is yet but am insured to drive it once I get time) seems to try very hard at redressing this balance but it's still got an engine way forward and I suspect nowhere near 50/50 weight distribution (which almost every BMW has more or less).
I've driven several fast Audis and all have left me feeling there's something missing.
Have you ever even DRIVEN any quick Audi (or quick car full stop)? Perhaps I'll start defending Lambos over Porsches shall I having never driven a Lambo or a proper quick Porker?!!
Even the 750i I test drove for a big newspaper felt "right" and chuckable despite weighing about 1800kgs.
Not sure where your Audi love comes from. I like the uR Quattro because my Dad had three but apart from the RS2, no Audi since then has really made me want one - I have a feeling a go in the RS4 might change that and can't wait to have a go and restore my faith in the four rings.

You are a joke you cannot even compute the difference between handling and how the car feels, and more importantly how the car makes you feel.
Since the B5 A4 audi's have been very good handlers.
And yes the RS4 hasnt got 50/50 weight distribution (58/42 i think) but most BMW's havent got 50/50 weight distribution either, although its close. Some mercs have better distribution than beemers if my memory serves me correct, and Lotus weight distribution is way off, which shows weight distribution isnt an all end to determine if a car will be a competetnt handler or not.

But you start the thread with the line "Looks like pure ****e" in regards to the new m3 (all be it a PS scam) so your not trying to put it down then??
Can you explain your love of Audi's as at the moment you don't even own one, have you ever owned one or even driven one for that matter?
Just trying to get my head around your possible blind love for this marque.

The 80 is what kicked it off for some reason.

AudiLover - You write very much like you just lift stuff from mags, not actually drive cars yourself.
As mentioned, my Dad had three uR Quattros (the last one a full Treser) and they were great but it's not blinded me to Audi's abilities.
What have you ACTUALLY driven?
If I haven't driven something, I state the fact very clearly.

You might get a bit of respect if you "improve" me (and others) wrong.

E60 M5. And I consider my views balanced - my last car was a RS6 (and I loved it), and before that was a 996 C4 (didn't really like it) - so I hopefully know what I'm actually talking about (from my experience) when it comes to these "half baked" cars, rather than paraphrase someone else's views.

Oh yes it does. Model by model any bmw is a better drive than any Audi.
Anyway
The mk2 TT is better than the Z4 (Z4 is better for track due to aggressive setup, TT better for everyday)

The RS4 is better than the M3
The S8 is better than the disatrous 7er.
Q7 and X5 is arguable.

Us petrolheads can sit here all year round and extol the virtues of whichever layout and brand only to realise that to 90% of our family, friends and colleagues: it doesn't matter. Most of them could care less. For the rest that do pretend that it matters do so based on what they've been told and not what they understand.
Sorry gang, but us folks here in scoobynet-land are in a minority - most of the car-buying public don't care (most of them don't even know) about front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
What the general public does understand (and desire) is a car that accelerates powerfully in a straight line and corners securely around bends. The notions of understeer and oversteer never even come to mind.

Thats about the most sensible thing you've ever posted, with one basic error. If you WERE a petrol head, you would know that with potentially one exception, the current Audi range are most certainly not "drivers" cars and the current BMW range most certainly are.
The 1 is a much better "drive" than the A3
The 3 is a much better "drive" than the A4
The 5 is a much better "drive" than the A6
Your point about joe public is entirely valid, but it does not by any means make them "better" on a true enthusiasts scale of whats important.
But by all means continue to promote your nose heavy, lifeless steered, underdamped, poorly matched spring & damper rated, understeering barges with their well made interiors as the best cars

Also Police and IAM trained.
You're digging yourself deeper and deeper into a hole of utter stupidity.
Carry on if you wish - It's quite entertaining...
