I'm going to upgrade all my work pc's to vista, as "windows XP is being phased out for support" - they will go for that

What is the latest build as of now? I have build 5840 through the beta programme. How far behind am I?

daft question for a moment, but saying as you're all on this thread at the moment - if I buy legit copy of "WinXP Pro upgrade", and use it to upgrade a hooky copy of Windows 2000 Pro, will it end up with a legit serial number ?

The RTM build is numbered 6000, but you can't really quantify how far behind you are using build numbers.

Yep, it looks for certain files on the CD, not the serial number or REG details
