Bloody Newbies get on here, buy ' authorised ' status and start spouting stuff as if they've been doing it for years. I dunno Shaun, you really are letting things slip.

Mr Wallis, is there some problem between you and I that I am unaware of ??
I've noticed a few picky comments about APi from you lately, just wonder what l might or might not have done to you.

Just spent half an hour reading this thread, been toying with the idea of a 2.5. More intrested in a torquey relible road car than a 8000rpm race car is their no reason you couldnt buy a good second hand 2.5 legacy engine and fit forged pistons an rods ?

what about the thread it is really informative don't stop posting

I have also questions:
is it no problem that the 2litre CDB is bored and relinered about 5mm in diameter i think that is really much isn't it? a friend of mine said this is too much the block will not stand so much power...

what uprated con-rods are used? are they for ej20 or 25? or are they something special?

I've got a good company which worked on engines over many years and they have bored and relinered much blocks, I think (hope) that it's good quality what I get there!

Can I make that build with normal Impreza Turbo Heads/Cams/Valves? Or would it better getting STi heads (all depends on money)!?
I'm sure that I should change valves! and do a little bit of metal working on the heads!

I wrote to Lateralperformance 2 weeks ago but I didn't get an answer..

@lateralperformance can you send me prices of all what I need, as I read you know what it is! Incl. shipping to Austria if possible!
Greetings
Steve

Runs great it is a very, very, quiet engine this may sound silly but compared to very other subaru engine I have owned (2) and other peoples' this thing is like a sewing machine. put a few miles on today hit 4500 rpm and it spooled up to 1.95 bar !!! yikes.
The GT3040 sounds great can't wait to strap the GT3542 on

Big smiles right now.
All I need is A GOOD TUNE and I am of to the races.
The straight cut PPG gears are LOUD!!!!

Finally the rotated setup in a classic is truly 10lbs of apples in a 5lb bag

Jon

Nice one I wouldn't be doing the 1.95 bar thing too often before the mapping though

Can't be bothered trawling through all the posts for the answer to this question, but a 2.33/35 with a GT35/42...won't that be a bit laggy, or do you have a high rev limit?

I do have a set of "open wallet, close eyes" race heads on now as well, so rpm limit is not an issue.

Monday I install the r180 axel assembly (plated rear diff) and my driveshaft shop level 5 (1000 HP) rear shafts.

Im told around 9000-9500 is what the valve train and components will support.
Time will tell
I dont think I will need more than 8500, the rest is insurance for when I miss a gear LOL.

Can anyone tell me if you can flat shift a straight cut with syncros PPG set without problems, can you also dog shift (i.e. with out the clutch) on the way up?
