And you can do whatever the hell you want.

When hubby and I bought our WRX I had just as much say in what type we bought as he did. It is the only car we own and we drive it 50/50. And as my money helps to pay for it and its running costs then I should have a say in which one we buy. We test drove one and he loved it but I didnt. We took it for a test drive and the engine warning light came on. Put me right off it.

We are hoping to upgrade to a newer model next year and I will have just as much say in which one we choose as my hubby.

And I love driving the scoob, I love the acceleration, the handling, the noise, the looks and I have the modding bug.

In all fairness, Wifey and I have a slightly diffrenent attitude.

I'm definitely NOT under the thumb, as when I set my mind to something, that's it, but things like cars and houses, or other large expenditures, we consult each other, after all, it could be perceived that if you're buying an item using both party's money, without their consent, it's theft

Plus, in my experience, I'll do all the leg-work, finding the right item/deal etc, then involve wifey. Then if it goes t1ts up, there's two of us to confront the problem.

She never objected to the two Scoobs I had. She resisted about the Scoobysport and mods, but when a strong justification was put forward she was fine.

The classic was when I got my Labrador - I had them as a kid and have always wanted another. Now my lifestlye and home can accomodate a large dog, we got one. The downside was we got the "Clifford, the big black dog!" He wouldn't fit in the car!! The Scooby had to go. (This was last Christmas) Spent most of Jan/Feb looking at other cars (primarily Legacy B4s and the odd Impreza Wagon - wanted something bigger) I still wanted an STI, but of course, no such thing as a new STI wagon.
Then she saw the S4 Avant (Audi) - I really liked it. Showed it to me, and she was really suprised that I was going to defect!!

However, the what I'm getting at is the whole thing of compromise. This is one of the facts and keys to a successful marriage.
I welcome my Wife's input, and in the very VERY rare occasions that we do disagree, there's always been something better around the corner - so call it fate

Dan
