Maybe I'd still have an M if I'd found a good M5 instead of an M3. Proper torque and I gather a more compliant suspension set up, and probably less depreciation as well. The selection of decent/recent ones was poor when I was shopping last year.

If its just got the standard TV tuner/satnav, you'll need an AV input kit and a DVD player, and then have the issue of controlling the player. (cant use the sat nav DVD to output video AFAIK )
Also a vehicle in motion bypass would be usefull otherwise it'll blank the screen as soon as you start moving.
Both aren't exactly cheap though for what is just a bunch of interface leads.
Alternatively there is the genuine BMW retro fit system which has a rear drop down screen and remote. Which is even more ££££££
Our 530iA Champagne edition has all the same electronic goodies (apart from it has a retro Motorola V50 flip phone instead of the brick ), so I did look into it for extra kudos points
Found this post...anyway this is the way it ended...

(nice car BTW and don't let the VANOS scarmongering worry you - they are very reliable. The front suspension bushings however, aren't )
