Maybe I'd still have an M if I'd found a good M5 instead of an M3. Proper torque and I gather a more compliant suspension set up, and probably less depreciation as well. The selection of decent/recent ones was poor when I was shopping last year.

Quick Question if anyone here can help:

I wanted to watch DVD's on the inbuit monitor. What do i need that will allow me to control the functions from the Screen?

Also can i get a PSP and will it allow me to do the above as well as games?

No worries, may not be my friends car but looks so similar... he traded it in for an M3 (don't ask), then RS6 a while ago .

If its just got the standard TV tuner/satnav, you'll need an AV input kit and a DVD player, and then have the issue of controlling the player. (cant use the sat nav DVD to output video AFAIK )

Also a vehicle in motion bypass would be usefull otherwise it'll blank the screen as soon as you start moving.

Both aren't exactly cheap though for what is just a bunch of interface leads.

Alternatively there is the genuine BMW retro fit system which has a rear drop down screen and remote. Which is even more ££££££

Our 530iA Champagne edition has all the same electronic goodies (apart from it has a retro Motorola V50 flip phone instead of the brick ), so I did look into it for extra kudos points

Oh any idea if that car exists and being broken for spares? I need a rear bumper and proximity sensor controller.

(nice car BTW and don't let the VANOS scarmongering worry you - they are very reliable. The front suspension bushings however, aren't )
