One of the best.
He did a lot to enhance technology and objectivity to many subjects and contributed a great deal to television and the media.

Big loss in many ways.

Wonder if Clarkson will be seen in the same way?

Great guy. Sorry he has gone. Big part of my TV as a youth in the same mould as Richard Dimbleby and Alan Whicker.

Can't think that Clarkson compares really. He hasn't actually done anything aside from being a big petrol head self-opinionated schoolboy.

Forgive me one off-the-thread bit:

Isn't Clarckson a comic book character?

Based this on Top Gear was a motoring prog, then a Magazine (3 years ago) and now a comic book..

Anyone remember him test driving the Audi quattro sport.

A great commentator, he leaves a son and daughter

On reading a bit more about Mr Baxter, I discover that he narrated Winston Churchill's funeral and also described Concord's first flight amongst other historical events. A truly great man.

As for you prunes who once again have tried to hijack a serious RIP thread to a noble chap with scurrilous remarks, how would you think his two grown up children would feel to read your disgraceful remarks ?

Grow up you lot and have a bit of respect.
