Some great photo's Anthony.
I must have missed you on the day as I was hovering around for much of the time although I went early (there's only so much rain a man is prepared to take!!!)
let me know when the meet is re-arranged and I'll try to get there.
Cheers!

Great, Anthony a meet sounds fine for then, I should be able to make it (still waiting for a fine day for a coat of Meguires first!). Also hoping my new wheels arrive by then and in time for Scooby-Shootout day!
PS Nigel, I may be able to help you but I'm just about to sell a cheap, ecomocial car; my Punto. PM me if interested, but it'll do 55mpg, OK it's not 'quick' but is nippy round town! 52 reg, A1 condition. It was basically my second car after the Scoobs and is looked after as if a Scooby, but I've just got a replacement now.

Cheers Kev but we already have a 54 reg Punto which we promised to my eldest after she passed her test in May. Count this my warning top you all to steer well clear of a silver grey punto!!!!!
I'm thinking about the Skoda as the best compromise I can find between, performance, economy and residual prices - try finding one below £8k and you're doing well!!!

The Fabia is great Nigel.......really good little car. IRC I think it cost me about 500 to get it remapped, but I got the Serial Port Switch which allows you to choose between two maps....one lower power (more like standard). It isn't "chipped"....it's a Revotechnik remap and it makes a hell of a difference. I've had the car for 11 months now and it was remapped in about August. I've averaged 47.6mpg over the last 11 Months. If you are getting a wriggle on, the mpg does drop a bit, but not below about 35 to 40mpg. I regularly get about 48mpg (brim to brim.....not the trip computer).
I have a full Eibach suspension kit on it too and it still has a decent ride, but handles pretty well actually, if a little nose-heavy. It's certainly quick enough to surprise quite a few "fast" motors out there......some Scoobs included!! I know.....I've had both! (I'm talking mid-range grunt of course, not out and out straight line speed).
I'll sell mine for the right price , it's in excellent condition and has been very well looked after (remapped or not). Full SH, etc, etc, etc. I want another Scoob...........finances are going to be better for me in a few months.
I didn't really think about any other cars.....my Dad already had a Fabia vRS, so I knew what they were like. I think the Seat Ibiza FR's are pretty good too. The Cupra diesel has 160bhp to start with, but for the price, the Fabia takes some beating in my opinion.
I'll take you for a spin it it if ya like.
Oh yeah.....here's a pic!

I am humbled to say the least
If it wasn`t for the rain I would have taken loads more, but alas good old English weather spoilt it.

Hi all,
Great pics again Anthony, reckon I must've been stood near you as I have very similar ones.
Anyone got any good 'convoy' stories; always a great part of Scoobie days - I left with about 6 at midday (went home for Monaco GP) down the A64 - class! Then came back for the afternoon's wash-out!
What is everyone's view on dream scoobie; mine is obvious - the Clark Motorsport one!

Dream Scoobie, erm let me think I`d love to be a passenger with Andy F when he does the the 1/4 mile
On the other hand, Jim Won`t Fix It for me, so I`ll settle with the Type 25

Many Thanks To You All.
For attending the Northern Big One. A great day was had by all. Even though our wallets/purses were a little lighter on the way home.
Thanks again to Alan for organising the mini convoy, great fun.
Here are a few pics I took of the day that I have managed to upload so far.

My front drivers side wheel is making a sound like the brakes are permanently catching on the disc. Am slightly worried that this might be a wheel bearing! Problem is that there are now no dealers servicing Subaru's anywhere between Leeds, Richmond and Hull!!!!
Some while back I recall someone mentioned about a private garage in Elvington that had a good reputation for dealing with Subaru's, can someone remind me who they are and where I can get their number?
Cheers!

Thanks to both Scubasteve and GIAS.
I've given them a call and hopefully thye can sort out. If it turns out well it'll be really useful as I only live in the next village.

YorkScoobs Meeting.
Just in case you haven`t seen it, Alan has sorted out a meet for us.
This one will go ahead, even if we have to stay inside, due to the weather being a bit on the dull side at the moment, chin up and bonnet scoops out
