Some nice piccies there..........even one of my old mate Adam and his mad wheelie'ing Jeep!!

Me and my mates used to follow that Jeep all over when we were 16 or 17......on our motorbikes (23 or 24 years ago by the way!!!)

It looks just about the same, but has a new owner now (Adam) and it's at a whole new level of performance now. 10 second quarters I believe!!

I'm particularly fond of that black Scoob in the second pic........plain and simple, clean.....and very nice looking. Who's is it? I want one!!

Oh I will get back to Scoobydom, but not in time for the 27th.

I may just manage it for the NBO, but I need to get a house move out of the way first, so the car isn't number one priority.

I do know quite a few peeps from the York/Hull Scoob areas, so now doubt we'll bump into eachother at some point.

I'll be the one in the Fabia!!

What is the Fabia like to drive? I need to get a second car and want something cheap (relatively), practical and quick. I see from your profile that you have 'chipped' the car to 180bhp, if you don't mind me asking how much does this cost, is it a noticeable boost in performance and is there a cost at the pumps (other than the fact that you want to play more in a quicker car!!! ). Did you think about any other cars (I'm wondering whether I'm missing some other gem? )

Any help gratefully received.

Nigel

Great, Anthony a meet sounds fine for then, I should be able to make it (still waiting for a fine day for a coat of Meguires first!). Also hoping my new wheels arrive by then and in time for Scooby-Shootout day!

PS Nigel, I may be able to help you but I'm just about to sell a cheap, ecomocial car; my Punto. PM me if interested, but it'll do 55mpg, OK it's not 'quick' but is nippy round town! 52 reg, A1 condition. It was basically my second car after the Scoobs and is looked after as if a Scooby, but I've just got a replacement now.

Default York Scoobs to Scooby Shootout

I have secured a marquee and place for some cars at Scooby Live with jap-Club.com.

Now heres the thing I can have you on the stand but you have to join JAP-CLUB.com The enthusiast's car club to do so please.... otherwise i'll get into grief

Now I only have a limited number of spaces so they will be allocated on a first come first served basis thats only fair, this will give you secure parking for the event on a club stand in the middle of the action

thank you

let me know.. im not hard to find.. im girl-in-a-scoob everywhere

The Fabia is great Nigel.......really good little car. IRC I think it cost me about 500 to get it remapped, but I got the Serial Port Switch which allows you to choose between two maps....one lower power (more like standard). It isn't "chipped"....it's a Revotechnik remap and it makes a hell of a difference. I've had the car for 11 months now and it was remapped in about August. I've averaged 47.6mpg over the last 11 Months. If you are getting a wriggle on, the mpg does drop a bit, but not below about 35 to 40mpg. I regularly get about 48mpg (brim to brim.....not the trip computer).

I have a full Eibach suspension kit on it too and it still has a decent ride, but handles pretty well actually, if a little nose-heavy. It's certainly quick enough to surprise quite a few "fast" motors out there......some Scoobs included!! I know.....I've had both! (I'm talking mid-range grunt of course, not out and out straight line speed).

I'll sell mine for the right price , it's in excellent condition and has been very well looked after (remapped or not). Full SH, etc, etc, etc. I want another Scoob...........finances are going to be better for me in a few months.

I didn't really think about any other cars.....my Dad already had a Fabia vRS, so I knew what they were like. I think the Seat Ibiza FR's are pretty good too. The Cupra diesel has 160bhp to start with, but for the price, the Fabia takes some beating in my opinion.

I'll take you for a spin it it if ya like.
Oh yeah.....here's a pic!

I shall speak to all and find out best days & times for everyone at Scoobylive.

I do appreciate that we all lead different lifestyles, this will be reflected upon on the next meet.

The Hopgrove is situated on Malton Road, used to be called The Stockton On Forest Inn.
It is on Saturday evening around 6, there or thereabouts

The weather will be fine Steve. If it is a bit on the damp side, it will spice up the handling ciruit.

Default MEETING CANCELLED

After careful consideration I have decided to postpone this until a later date.
Sorry if i have caused any inconvenience to anyone.
As said previously, we can catch up tomorrow at Scoobylive and try and arrange suitable places and times to suit everyone.
I fully understand peoples working commitments and lives.
So the next one will hopefully bring more interest and larger numbers.
