I don't like cutting bodies out of cars....so i didn't join the emergency services. I am sure firemen knew what the job would be when they joined the brigade.
Don't like it get a different job.

Incase you didn't notice noboby crashed or died.

Well the only person i have ever insured who was caught doing over 135mph was a police officer.....so that says a lot i guess.

I am not trying to say that 160mph is safe, it is quite the opposite.

But most people take chances in life, it is their decision. They don't need people on here telling them they are wrong.

Here here

How satisfyed would you be in buying a £400 car spending abit of time and a few £100s on it and having it go from a top speed of 103 to 150-160?!

I know modding ain't for everyone, but the kid inside always wants to go quicker and look angrier

150 nova, respect for it m8y Not the greatest of cars to mod, but always cheap to insure and cheap to replace parts for

Oh, and keep the speeding to the tracks aye?!

tbh you have made a fair observation, two things about your posts will wind people up (trolling?), your holier than thou attitude and the fact that this IS a forum for (relatively ), quick cars...if you own one you would make a liar out of yourself if you said you never speed.

too fast on a public road NO, exceed the speed limit YES there is a subtle difference.
I would never double the national speed limit on a public road and even if i did iwouldn't post details here

The point is 160mph on a public road is excessive. I've speeded over the legal limit but not in excess. 160+ means longer stopping distance and maximum injury to anyone in their way.

If people want to back that type of behaviour then it's your choice but others will leave negative feedback on the subject.

As mentioned earlier...each to their own.

I personally wouldn't take my Impreza to 160mph (wouldn't get there even if i wanted to!!!), but i appreciate others might.

If they do fair play, as long at they know what happens if they get caught/crash

Crash roll onto oncomming carriage way wiping out bus load of school children heading out early saturday morning to see wimbledon for example [my girls went there last weekend and left reading at 6.00 in the morning to miss the traffic] not going to convence me

Not likely to happen?

Anything is possible. At the end of the day, you may go over the legal limit but at lower speeds you may have time to react to avoid an accident. At 160mph your timing is seriously reduced.

So accidents don't happen at 70mph then?

Go through a central reservation at 70 and whatever you hit will get pretty f**ked up!!! At 160mph you'd probably jump it and land it a very messy pile on the hard shoulder

It is called a sense of humour

Don't take yourself too seriously on this site

My point is that 160mph ISN'T safe, but i am sure you have seen more fatalities caused by speeds less than 150mph than you have above that speed.

Hey, it gives us something to do....much better than dealing with the drunken tossers and idiots who think an emergency ambulance will help their common cold. There's nothing like a bit of trauma
