Grow up mate, it was a nice car and we had a good tear up,

No he didnt beat me but any nova thats only 8 or so car lenghts behind @ 150mph deserves respect and only when i pulled passed 160 did i really lose him.

If you got nothing constructive to say... dont bother:cuckoo:

You must clearly have a glass panel in your stomach mate.. you would need it to see where your going with your head so far up your arse as it is.

Either that or you clearly know sod all about cars nor the capabilities of a calibre turbo engined nova.. circa 280bhp in a nova??

Dont take much working out does it?

Or are you another of these.. "a subaru is the fastest car in the world" people???

A mate of mine had his speed verified in his turbo Nova with timing gear at 157 mph at Bruntingthorpe last year.

Think before you type!

NUMPTY :iamwithst

Moley 10 July 2006 09:45 AM

Yes, a turbo'd Nova will do 150mph, with a 6 speed box fitted could even get close to 160mph. (Although it would take a braver man than me to do it!!!)

I think i know the previous owner of this car, has had a lot of money spent on it.

Was a Vauxhall show this weekend in Northampton (Billing Aquadrome), was was probably something to do with that

Martin2005 10 July 2006 09:55 AM

Frayz, I'm not going to comment on your actions, except to say it's not big, and it's really not clever

As for the Nova, I struggle to see why anyone would spend loads of money on one of the stupid little cars, why not buy a proper fast car in the first place?

because its fun to make things into something they are not...like making an impreza handle better and go faster...kinda like type 25 mods ;)

So definitely not because it's cheap to insure a Nova without declaring modifications then?

alwong 10 July 2006 10:48 AM

150mph to 160 mph on an A road??? :cuckoo:

I thought that people would be more grown up on these forums :cuckoo: Martin. Is your car standard? If not, then what's the point of you spending your money on it when you could go and buy something faster in the 1st place! :wonder:

Sorry, but if you want to modify your car then bollox to it and do it. Wouldn't life be boring if we all drove around in standard scoobies  :lol1: :lol1:

BUT, the speeding is a bit naughty frayz :nono: But then everyone of us has never sped around any where!!............ Have we :Suspiciou

not sure how insurance or indeed any mention of costs came into this conversation...I don't own a modified nova but can confirm my insurance premium increases with each modification i make on my impreza...

I never said you owned a Nova, I was just making the point that people buy Corsas and Novas because they're cheap to insure, then make all kinds of modifications to them. Now I always assumed that given how expensive declared mods are on insurance there is no way that alot of them are being declared, otherwise it would be cheaper to buy a proper fast car in the first place.

assumption is the mother of all f*ck ups...possibly cheaper but probably no where near as much fun to create your own :D

Thanks for that, I was wondering why it made all that noise and went so fast when I put my foot down.:lol1:

The point was not about modifying cars per se, more about which cars are modified and why.

Mangel 10 July 2006 12:33 PM

I know a guy wh has a 150+ mph Nova 2.0 Turbo(independently verified by T5), looks like and SR still on steels, awesome Q car.

Things are not always what they seem, recently came across a guy who built an impreza engined Porsche 356 replica. classic looks and Ballistic go!!!!

Nothin wrong with a bit of modifiying!!!

Anyway, you should all Calm Down, Its a commercial!!!

Adidas 10 July 2006 02:51 PM

Frayz,

You're just gutted because the Nova was more bufty then the Scoob :p ;)

BTW, 150?? :nono: :nono: :)
