The anti-England football supporting in Scotland comes from the arrogance of the English Media and those in the english football business.

They seem to think that England have some god given right to win the World Cup. "England Expects" at the start of every tournament pretty much sums it up.

Whereas Scotland, when they do qualify, go in with a "we know we wont win it, but we'll give it our best shot and have a laugh along the way" attitude.

Its not about being anti-English for the vast majority of Scottish people (including me).

1966 was 40 years ago and yet we still hear about it....... all the time - this is annoying.

Nobody in Scotland was really bothered that England won the Rugby World Cup, or the Ashes. You celebrated it, boasted a bit and let it lie. This would not happen if England won the World Cup in 2006. We would never hear the end of it

Also, whats all the guff about having to support another country. Just cause Scotland didnt qualify means I drop my support for someone else. I still support them, and the team I would like to see do well is Australia due to Craig Moore.

I for my sins first decided to support Paraguay, but then I took a liking for Trinidad and Tobago. That didn't last long though as Sweden started to look like a good bet. My current thinking is however with Ecuador.
