I find that it does'nt matter what car i'm in (either my MY05 WRX or My classic Sport), that all bar 3 Scoobs (a WR1 and 2 tuned Classics) in the King's Lynn area wave back . But as there are more Classics around the area it is these that blatantly ignore you by suddenly spotting a lesser spotted cloud through the passenger window when ever I approach , at least New age owners at least look, they just don't seem to get the scooby wave thing.

Like i have said before, and knowing me even said it in this thread but i am a seive head so i wont remember, lol, I love classics. They sound awesome, and if done properly look awesome too. I wave at all Subaru's, well WRX's i mean. Being in a newage does not make me think i am above anyone else at all, merely i was stupid enough to spend more money on one.
The only thing i ******* hate to see is the chavved up classic's. Like a mate of mine has, i mean ffs we are bloody 37 and his classic is so damn chav it is stupid, and i mean stupid.

I am just 4 days into subaru ownership and got a wave from another owner. I waved back after a second of "do I know that guy?" So if you were on abbeydale road yesterday evening and waved apologies I was slow on the uptake!

Will be ready next time!!

Been driving about in both Scoobs today, all 6 Classics ignored me and the only person to wave was a new age STi, and i was in the classic Sport not the MY05!! In my area it is the Classics who are far more ignorant than New Age owners, why is that??

Hi guys, Im a new age owner and i flash/wave.

Thing that i have noticed since buying mine in feb is that 3/4s of owners wave or flash but the others wait to see if you do first.

I bought my new age because i loved the way it looked and was originaly wanted a white classic.

but ive had a few classics AND new age blank me, so i guess it dont matter if they have a classic or a new age. At the end of the day they are made by the same people, so it dont matter, i think they all look mint as long as they are loked after regardless of age

I am back to thinking that newage owners are ignorant. After the happy occurence of two newage wavers a fortnight or so ago, it's gone back to ignorance central with 'em.

Very often they are driven by ugly birds, too.

These are the people that change their car every year or so in a rabid cycle of depreciation and warranty-based fears

I would def be in your 50% wave-back, trouble is I'm finding that all cars are starting to look the same from the front and I'm waving at any strange old trucks lately

How do you know it comes with big debt????????

just because hes young, doesnt mean to say he doesnt earn good money, i have just landed a 30+k a year job, the 05 WRX will be going the journy and probably be replaced with an 06 Spec C, oh, and i will be using finance to buy it, it gives you ceratin safe gaurds when buying a new car, especialy if its a brand new crap can from a dealer that goes through engines every 2 months.

Bit like my WRX come to think of it.......

Sod all wrong ith buying things on finance, i think alot of people seem to forget, you still have to pay the money back you know.....

You are all aware of that little fact arent you.....

Back to the topic...

I'm a new newage driver and in the couple of months of owning my scoob I have to agree that getting a from other newages is pretty rare!! Hovever I can't think of an occasion where a classic owner hasn't given a wave

A lot of us with new age started with a classic. also any owners that buy from a dealership and are probably buying there first scoob are not informed about car clubs, internet sites etc so may not know about the culture. You would think that by now Subaru specialist dealerships would be advising the owners of the family fun you can have with your scoob at local meets etc.

Its like generalizing people from different countries, all Irish are thick and so on...I've had my classic from 2001, when having an Imperza was like being related to a certain WRC Scott! and almost every one turned their head to look at you!

I've seen this change through the long years and now I don't care about waves or people stopping and looking at my car, I just love the sound it makes and she put's a smile on my face every time I start it up... when I get the chance....there is still no sound like it other than an Audi quattro sport streight 5 turbo on full chat!

So I'll leave the past in the past and just remember what it was like!

Default Sudden outbreak of Scoobies!

Just come back from the south of France, and there's obviosly been a sudden dose of very unpatriotic car buying. Saw a lot more scoobies, mostly of the WRX variety, but also a few well preserved Classics. Most of the younger guys waved, I even go waved at by an Irish black WRX Wagon (new age I think). Also passed a convoy of race prepped scoobies going the other way, and you would of thought they'd seen Elvis. Hooting/waving/flashing like loons, mind you, I was hooning past a kev'd up Pug 206 on the exit from a roundabout at the time

Eeerm? Am I missing something here? Let me try and get this straight. You wait until you can look in their eyes (you suggest a couple of metres) and then flash them. No wonder scooby owners don't notice you! Mind you, I bet the guy in the car following the scoob thinks you're a real barrel of laughs!!!

From a new age owner and serial waver/flasher (and no, not that kind of flasher!)
