Yep sorry - didnt get my meaning across.
The 333 makes it that bit rarer than an STI so it could have been a bit more of a planned job in my opinion.
Low spoiler on the sti is a pretty unique feature though so I will keep em peeled

I've had one for 3 years now and always fit it when leaving the car, it becomes habbit after a while. It also looks like a right pain to defeat so that's good news.

No - no news - I will post if anything new comes to light.
Dipster that sounds like a great anti theft device. If its locked in gear it defeats a lot of ways they can get it away.
I would just like to say that it was not the full 333 kit. it was all prodrive including the exhaust system but with the TSL map work. Hope this keeps my insurance company a bit happier - HI GUYS!

Anyway, the bloke duly emerged with the car's stereo under his jacket and I let him get about 5 cars away before I popped out from behind a car and ran into the middle of the road with my Bullmastiff, shouting "Oi!". He looked shocked, pegged it... I gave chase... he passed the 'running car'... it pulled out and he eventually got into the same car around yet another corner. I couldn't catch him as these big dogs are crap at running distances (and I was unfit at the time!), but I did get the reg number as the car passed me.
Turned out, the guy's girlfriend worked at a main dealership and at night they drove around (in her company car - cheeky/doh!) stealing the radios from numerous vehicles that had all been sold by this dealership i.e. simply using the key to get in. So, my point is that it IS feasible that someone who works at a dealership, or once worked there and has now left but kept records/copies of keys etc, came and took your car.
And I reckon that these kind of muppets would bother staking-out your house, perhaps spending time following you if they really want to take your car. That's a bit worrying, especially as it's not that collectible or valuable etc.
Aren't those Disclok's supposed to be really strong - I remember seeing an auto Express review once where they couldn't break it open?

RFID devices such as the Scooby keys are not secure, and thieves are getting much more sophisticated - they would only need to be in range of you using the keys to be able to fake them with some additional but not that expensive hardware...

I also have a disklok and have read they are supposed to be strong. I definitely think mechanical security is more of a deterrent and sometimes more difficult to get round than electronic security.
I had a Vecta immoboliser on an escort a few years ago and as has been said ALL circuits were around steering column/fuse box. One day it broke and the RAC man bypassed three circuits in about 20minutes.

Was sorry to read about this - and also being in South Northants less than 25 mins from Stoneleigh makes it especially relevant.
As to why it was stolen I would definitely agree with the taken to use in a robbery (or similar) theory. In December 04 some scumbags drilled out my kitchen window (using 'silent' drills according to the police, so as not to wake me) and attempted to take (one of) my cars. All this whilst I was asleep on the sofa (at 2am) having fallen asleep working on my laptop. The bit that is in some ways interesting is that they had cleared the ice off the windscreen of my MY98 Wagon (which I had not yet got rid of) and NOT my WR1, so they were after the Wagon and not the more valuable car - so it is reasonable to assume it was being targeted to use as a get away car.
I hope this gets resolved as you would like it to be.
Best wishes,
Robin
