Pete, I agree with some of your posts, the back slapping on here can be vomit inducing. But sometimes you can be a bit cynical.

All a bit of a bore Pete.

The guy wanted to know some info, and others have responded honestly.
It is a free forum which is great, but if you have no first hand experience of anyone/company you are not too qualified to state any facts. Maybe you do have experience of David and Co?
If so, then I say sorry to you now.

Yes, people pay API for a good job, (like I have in the past) but you do get more than a good job; if you have ever been there and too a weak specialist you will see the difference.
API did my head gaskets and advised on a tweek or two for my hill climb Sti running 1.5bar. I paid for the job confident on the engine's robustness. I have close to murdered that engine for 2 years @ 407 bhp etc and it is still perfect.
I sing API's praises so others will think to go there for the same result.
You also missed out the free advice David gives this forum to anyone who cares to ask for a professional's opinion!

I am sure everyone reads your opinion and that is good, you have the space to post it, but allow others to express their's too free of negative comment.

Dare I say it, I even agree with yours sometimes!

Graham

ps: I'm an old guy too.

API don't come in for special treatment from me ...... they just seem to be the ones that get more than their fair share of **** licking, vomit inducing, kissy hugs for doing a job they are paid very handsomely to do

I am very cynical and very suspicious and it has stood me in good stead all these many years ........... you will notice, if you keep an eye out, the number of newbies asking a question which triggers a massive outflowing of praise for API - funny? odd? unusual? you're damned right it is!!

Now, again, I will repeat that API are quite clearly doing an excellent job in return for an excellent payment ...... and that is to be encouraged, they may even throw in a FREE LUNCH?

But, why should posts that slag a crappy dealer/supplier/tuner be deleted and those praising a dealer/supplier/tuner be allowed to 'flower-up' SN?? Both sides are as passionate about the service they have received and both sides can influence peoples decisions.

And yes, David at API has LOADS of relatives who visit SN every so often, followed by his numerous members of staff

Pete

I reckon the 'clinic' get more ' recommendations ' than APi. That's probably because they must all be Catholics and you know how they breed.

Perhaps using pslewis theory we should get the mods to ban anyone that starts ' **** licking ' that isn't a single person entity, agnostic, white etc etc.

David APi.

"ok david pay's us to say that he's doing a good job" is that what you want to hear.
i think im right in saying the only reason threads get deleted when slagging a supplier off is down liable.i own my own company and get alot of my work from word of mouth if everyone had the same attitude as mr lewis i wouldnt have a business, and this is all that happening,if your freinds asked where you had a good meal you would tell them,i dont see what the problem is if api gave me a bad service i wouldnt be saying that they are good would i,we all cant be wrong.
