opinions please!
hi all,ive recently ported my standard headers bought a decat 3" ss downpipe a solid uppipe and put a 99 intercooler on my 95wrx import, ive wrapped headers and up and down pipes, but when ive took it out for first time with these on, only round block, when i got back inlet manifold way hotter than before. wanted to know if this is normal when they av been wrapped?
cheers eddy.

Nobody has asked why someone would wrap those parts. It was asked why he wrapped those parts. A question that was pretty much answered by his obvious concern that temperatures had risen instead of . . . . . . . .

Possible with the headers wrapped, keeping the headers hotter, it might be making the exhaust exit from the heads hotter by conduction, in turn increasing the temp. of the whole engine including the inlet manifold. Try taking the wrap off the headers, and see if the inlet runs cooler or not.
Or maybe by only going around the block, your thermostat may not have fully opened, and therefore the cooling system would not have been at full efficiency? Try a proper run to see if things are any different.

EddySTI,
Robs answer aside, you'll be much better off posting in technical. I've got my headers / exhaust manifold, uppipe and downpipe wrapped FWIW, as have many others. Harvey's good on heat management and others will offer well considered, mature and knowledge based responses - which is what you want I guess.
