If you're a car enthusiast why did you buy a bugeye? You plan to keep the bugeye for life? Or were you commenting that poor taste in cars is a bit like AIDS and you'll have it till you die?

No if you read the thread, i sold the M3 and looked at scoobs, I didn't much appreciate the interior of the classics, and the bulky nose of the blob eye wasn't to my satisfaction so i chose a bugeye that had pleasing lines to my eyes and a solid base so i could achieve what i wanted to from the car

i dont really understand ??so triple og has a fast car that a zs could never hope to race ,well so what theres always a faster car somewhere
i have already said it but i have never known anyone wanting to imitate a scooby wth their zs ,i think in fact its the subaru owners who come up with this in their heads because they dont like the fact that a zs in blue looks a little like their scooby to the untrained eye. I would happily go on track with any uk standard wrz or classic turbo but you would only see me about once every ten minutes as i came round to lap you,my zs lapped combe in 1.26 repeatedly on standard brakes ,suspension ,tyres etc with just a full zorst and induction on my first ever track day,just because a car is a few years old doesnt mean it cant be great.There are many cars a few years old that with a little tinkering can become real track day greats ,the 205 gti for example.

I did not say it was one of the 5 best FWD cars ever. I said, and it is true, that it has one of the best FWD chassis ever. You might think it makes you look big and clever to knock Rover and in many aspects you would be right, but the chassis engineers certainly polished a turd when it came to the ZS' chassis.

Congratulations btw for the only post of yours I've ever seen that didn't suffer from retarded schoolboy spelling and grammar. Makes the whole experience that much more pleasurable.

there is no doubt that th ZS it is a decent car, it's styling however is there to mimic the scoob and the evo, both of which are in some form a rally descendent. I'm not saying that they a rally cars, they are far from it however that is where their breeding has stemmed from hence the wing, flared arches, 2litre turbo lumps, awd etc. The ZS however is not a rally descendent and the cosmetic attributes aren't deserved or synonymous with the brand.

Rabid: please get your head around the fact there are bugeye owners out there and they love their cars, like their are x5 owners out there that love theirs. Each with a different criteria for their needs catered for by their choice in car. Your petty abuse has no place on what we want to be a civilised car discussion.

MG Driver: I am sure the ZS is very adaptable at being a track day car, all the best with your chosen path . There are faster cars and there are better handling cars but like you chose the ZS as your motor, I have chosen an STi and we both will encounter better and worse cars during our respective ownerships. I have no grief with MG's, rover however dont get me started on

 

ZS is a great car for the money IMO.

A bugeye STI is categorically not a good track day car, it's AWD for a start, is to heavy and understeers like a bitch. A ZS would have you for breakfast and spit out the leavings. An AX would be more than capable of humiliating you as well, you obviously know nothing.

Understeer is a result of moronic drivers not appreciating the dynamics of the vehicles and believing that awd will go round any corner without braking. I think you'll find awd is great round a track, look at the Tsbuka time attack cars

 

I reckon it's gonna be close 350 with awd losses could see your AX come into play . It'll be a decent fixture with driver capacity coming into play on both counts ........... I wouldn't like to call it

I disagree- some things are objectively bad.


Vauxhall Vectra MK1- a badly designed car, that drove badly and was brought down further by being driven largely by company car drivers who drove like idiots in it giving it an image lower than a paedophile with a puppy killing fetish.

Alfa Arna- a datsun cherry with italian electrics- a well known, widely accepted disaster of a car.

Morris Ital- it's a marina with italian design flair- actually it doesn't have ANY design flair.


Bugeye Impreza- brought in to replace the succesful 'classic' Impreza the bugeye failed by dint of looking like an old toyota corrola (but not as handsome) and being slower than the model it replaced. EVO had these figured at nearly 19 seconds to 100. Subaru killed it off prematurely to save face and bring back some sales.
