Default Sorry no Gucci Pictures

The New year has come and gone, so time to start to ramp up the work ethic for 2009 !

I've spent the last few hours getting used to the User Interface for the new Solaris ECU, and, because I opted for the GP interface rather than the Plug'N'Play Subaru ECU I wanted to try to figure out how it worked and is wired.

Checked out various options and ended up between this and Simtek, however this raises the bar !

The car currently has an Apexi ECU installed, this has been excellent however a change was needed due to a change in direction, I checked out various offerings, this one ticks all of the boxes plus some boxes I didn't know needed ticked till I dug into it. This thing is awsome

You don't need to know what's going on, I just prefer to! (Your mapper does though)

So, most of this evening was spent producing a wiring diagram as I'm re-wiring the car from scratch, I intend running the bits that go 'Vroom Vroom' by Pat to see check if we are heading in the right direction. This isn't an issue of course with the PNP ECU's, they just plug in.
.

Should have some good pics over the next few days showing the chassis tweaks

Well, you can't keep a Good Man and his 'Pad Saw' down I always say ! Craig's been in the garage

The rear of the car has looked something along these lines since build

Having thought about it the clam shape of the rear bumper is nothing but a big parachute So Craig was at it today with his trusty Saw and the result looks like this.

Still a job in progress, but well on it's way. I'm sure most will recognise where the idea came from

Hi me again along to ask a couple more questions

Are you replacing the rear exit exhaust?

Have you lost the spare wheel well yet?

Any pics of whats lurking behind the bumper?

Not true my friend, Craig has done this so that the missing section just slots back in as a number plate carrier

good to see you've got a proper ECU going in John!

Your "stuff" should be on it's way shortly!

Spent this evening drawing a schema for the new SOLARIS ecu.

I've been debating in my head for a year now about what to use Features Vs Cost.

The SOLARIS came out a clear winner, the fact that the best Subaru Suppliers/Mappers in the country have signed up for this and the features available............ no brainer !!

Here's my Rev 1.1 wiring Schema

Hi S would the car not be better off with a rear diffuser from lets say the rear diff to the rear bumper to aid air flow or do they just look good in carbon???
