THIS is the sort of thread that makes Scoobynet great. Ignore all this other non-car related rubbish

I can hand-on-heart sya that I've kept an eye on this thread from start until now, and have enjoyed every last post

Yours is probably one if not THE best example of the Type R in existance. A credit to you, Sir.

we really should have a hall of fame for the best threads on Scoobnet, and this is one of them

Top one

Can't wait to see what she makes after being mapped (and subsequent rolling road?)

Keep up the good work,

Dan

Cheers for all the comments again...
Just a quick update to let you know all is well... on 1500miles now... gotta do another oil change soon... can finally go onto fully sythetic...
Next to fit are the 800cc injectors...
Be a couple more weeks before they go in then turn the boost upto 25psi but for now running better than ever at 14psi...My god it goes...
So just a few pics as she stands now... as we all like to see pic's...

And after a quick trip down to Stoke... I come back and fitted these today... starting to get the finishing touches done...lol I think its a must having silver bulbs, although abit over priced imho...
The car flew down the A500, was a nice little run out...

As you can see in the reflection, I've got a few full tubs of oil to take down the tip at some stage...lol

Where too???
I like the sleeper look... I mean, it doesn't look like a 500bhp ( still to be proven ) Scooby does it???
I will get round to fitting some black mesh infront of the fmic soon... I wanna change the front grill for a newer style one to... and fit some black mesh in that...
I will very shortly be replacing my front number plate with a 3/4 size plate like I had on my old MY00 UK Turbo...

Never got pulled by the old bill when this was fitted...

Now... video clips would be great... I have thought about it... but, I haven't got owt to video it with... and then me not being to good on computers... there is just the other small problem of getting them onto here...lol

I'd like to video it on the rolling road as and when I get round to it...

Ive been following this thread with much interest scoobyslammed, and must admit, your car looks absolutly stunning, even though i have not seen it in the flesh.
Just a quick question though, what are the mods on the drivetrain on the car ?

Default Oh scoobyslammed you have no idea what you have started

Hey Chris, remember me I was the one who bought the EJ20 block and pistons from you, I came all the way up from Brighton???

Well I have to say that you have caused me no end of grief (yeah right!! ) that block is in my garage waiting for its full rebuild, I have had it honed and checked. I have the pistons I bought off you, some Eagle H conrods, and new Iuprated crank as yours was three thousands of an inch out of true after that spun bearing, so all the parts for the short engine ready!!!

But in the meantime, I have bought an STI V5 shell, all the interior, running gear, gearbox etc so whilst nowhere near as classy as your build (which I have watched with great interest) I also bought a turbo, inlet manifolds, so basically I have a whole other car, it goes in for painting in two weeks time and I still have no bonnet or front bumper and the roof needs replacing.

Anyway just thought I would drop you a note to let you know what you started, and to warn others not to buy anything from you ever!! as although the kit is in excellent order it is all contaminated with the "go mad and build it yourself virus" and I got the bug already.

Chris your car is a monster, and you have done a fantastic job of that and the posts, I'd love to know what BHP it runs at.

As reading in your previous posts, you are hoping to get near 500bhp on the standard gearbox.
The engine mods that i have done on my car are not that disimaler to yours but im **** scared of taking it any further as i dont think the transmission would take any more.
Hope you get what you aim for.

I keep thinking about going 6-speed... but some people like them, some people dislike them... and I dunno what to do...? I ain't brutel with the car... I take it into consideration and try to be careful as possible with it... Launches are a no no unless you really want it to go pop/ bang...
I think once its running 25psi it'll be pretty damm near the 500bhp...
Cheers for the comments anyway...

Just a quick update really to say its reached the 2000 Mile mark... I know its took some time... but it isn't unfourtunatley used everyday...
Everything is still spot on... got a couple of little bits to sort out... now't that ain't achieveable over 1 weekend...
Hoping to get some time over Christmas to get the injectors fitted, new 3 port boost solinoid fitted and another map tweak and boost up'ed to 25psi... Maybe then I'll be able to flick the anti-lag back on...
Still running 14psi... but My god... does it fly...

Bloody hell... better bring this thread bttt... lol
I'll get a update on here towards the weekend...
Just a quick post to say all has gone well with the fitting of the 800cc injectors and the new ecu...
Its soooooooooo much nicer to drive now... we'll increase the boost from 14psi in a week or so... was a very busy weekend and just glad its running better...
Big thanks to my sister's boyfriend Andy for his time and effort over the weekend... Its made a big difference... can't wait for the boost increase...

PS... Gaz... injectors will be on there way to you shortly... will ring you in the week...

bttt again...
Not really done much else to it... its had a few tweaks to the map etc.... but haven't had the time for one reason or another to up the boost...
Its planned to get done in the next few weeks now... will be wired up as 2 stage...
So, its just that to do, along with fitting the oil catcher tank...
And thats about it...

Unfourtunatley, it will then be up forsale... really gutted after all the effort and ££££ thats gone into it...
I'm in the process of buying a house with the misses... and although the car hasn't gotta go to buy the house, I really wouldn't be able to run it as often as I'd want to... due to todays house prices... lol
I will keep this thread updated of any changes... hopefully some video footage...?

The car ain't offically up ForSale yet... but if anyone wants it...
I want 11k for it... for that price it'll be sold with No ICE...

IMHO I think its priced well considering the spec and condition of the car...

Cheers for the comments...

I will regret selling it yes, but I wouldn't be able to afford to run it as i'd like... and with being a 1st time buyer... the money will come in handy to get things done in the house...

I will have another car to do as a project... but it won't be a Scooby... well... not for a while anyway...
Anyway... its not going just yet... but if theres anyone out there who would be seriously interested in it... they can contact me via PM...
