Any chance of a pic of the baffled sump.

I'm interested in one of these myself.

I'll get some pic's up of the baffled sump tommorrow if I can... but as mentioned... the is a pic on APi's site...

How much did it cost...? well, I haven't really got time to break down the price of everything...
So here's a link too the AXIS site...:-

http://www.axispowerracing.net/index.html

Roughly the stage 4 conversion cost me £2K... BUT, I have to buy a brand new EJ22t lump from the USA and have it delievered to Ron @ AXIS... Which was roughly £1K...
Just remember it don't stop at that though... I had cometic head gaskets, ARP bolts and studs, new water pump, and a gasket set off Ron at extra £££
Then, from over here I have purchaced, plugs, oil pump, more gaskets which wern't available from USA, tensioners, idlers, oil, new sump, Turbo, injectors, FMIC... Mapping... It just goes on...
In total without me working this little lot out exact... I bet its cost me just under £7K... Just a good job the car already had the GEMS on it... Doing the stripping down and building it back up has saved a fortune... plus, I've learnt a few bits...
When this car comes back out... its gonna be one hell of a car to drive... hopefully reliable, there will be more bhp in it somewhere for the future... if I were to change the turbo again...
If you want exact details on prices etc... you can PM me or I'm sure Playsatan will help you too...
I think overall I've hopefully got value for money... but only time will tell... I think Playsatan will give you his opinion on his purchase...

Cool

Well... its nearly there... should be running next weekend!!!
Yesterday we've spent half the day building it all back together... A big thanks to my sister's boyfriend Andy for all his help...
All thats left to do is put the cambelt, inlet manifold, turbo and injectors on...
The parts I've ordered off Andy F have been slightly delayed from his supplier... so these should turn up tommorrow or tuesday fingers crossed... which consist of Turbo, inlet pipe, and injectors...
Theres another few parts I've gotta order tommorrow aswell...
Running in oil ( 15w40 mineral oil )
Low running thermostat. part number QTH101
Front crankshaft oil seal ( why they don't supply these with the oil pump ) !!!
4X camshaft oil seals
2X dipstick 'O' ring seals
New flywheels bolts...
And the other cambelt idler I forgot about, the toothed one!!!

I'm gonna do the fuel mod, but my mapper don't like FSE FPR... he has told me to get a FPR adaptor off FSE if they will sell them seperate... and were gonna use a Cossie FPR!!! I can't really explain how... so you'll just have to wait for pic's...
Andy knows what he's doing... I do think he is mad though...
Oh, to chuck another spanner in the works... we ordered the dongle etc from GEMS... We've had a look at the map in my ecu... but Andy's not totally happy on the adjustability of the GEMS... So has suggested another ECU!!!

Hence it's up for grabs in the forsale section for £750.00 quid...

If it don't go for that it'll have to stay for a while due to the lack of funds!!!

So, aslong as all my parts turn up next week, its should finally be back up and running at the weekend... I'll post a few pic's up later anyway... so thats alittle update for you lot... Its going alright init???

PS... Wait until you see the pic's of my engine being built in the front room of my mum and dad's house!!! LOL It's staying in here until its fitted...

Gonna tax it up on friday or saturday for 6 months... Finally...

A few pic's of it as it sits now...

A pic here of the dog guarding it... sort of???

The 10 month rebuild... its soon gone and was worth the wait... It ain't over yet though... It will always be a on going project... ££££!

Well... may aswell bump this up again...

The block is finally in... I've gotta just wire everything back up, fit inlet manifold with the spacers, fit the cam belt, do the parallel fuel mod, fit oil catcher tank, fit the turbo and up-pipe, connect FMIC pipes up... then alternator, air-con pump and power steering pump...etc
I know it sounds like its still away off... but it should be running over the weekend...
Just gotta load a safe map up and then should be away... running it in...

A quick pic of the engine in place...

And a couple of the blower... Oooooooooh, cheers to Andy Forrester...

Further up the page I mentioned about a cooler running thermostat... forget about that part number... its wrong... So I just fitted a new one from Subaru for the mean time... concentrating on getting it running this weekend... I will find one for it in a few weeks...
Have decided to run it in on the 440's... will fit the 800's in a couple of weeks...lol

Its all built up and ready now... bar a few fitting/ part issues with the Turbo...
I haven't got enough nuts and bolts lol, & one of the water pipes on the turbo isn't pointing in a ideal direction... so were looking into a few improvements on that one...
Then, the silicone turbo inlet pipe is missing a mounting point for a breather... gonna try a mini K&N on that... hopefully it should run OK with being mafless???
Then lastly... the air-con adjustment thing sheared... so I've gotta order a new one of them... anyone got a part number?
So hopefully once all this is over come... we will be able to put in a safe map and fire it up for the first time... so hopefully be running for the end of the week...
It's now taxed again for 6 months, did that on saturday... but everything just seemed against us...

So, a few pics of it all built up bar the mentioned missing parts above...:-

All the front back on... its been awhile since I've seen headlights in it...

Interior with no boxes or parts in it...

I've got all the nuts and bolts needed today... just the water pipe for the turbo ( which is being made ), abit of pipe work, & the A/C belt adjuster... waiting for a call back off Subaru...

I think I can now get away with fitting the turbo... so will do that tommorrow... the fit the FMIC pipe from the T/B and the one from the turbo... fit the induction kit... then were pretty much there... finally...
Just gotta fill the power steering up, and coolant system...
So should be ready to fire towards the end of the week... providing this water pipe turns up...
A quick re-map and it should be back out...

... It finally runs...
Done 50 miles in it today while mapping it... dumping the oil again tommorrow... first impressions is it feels very lively... Only using part throttle upto 4K max... and between 4-5psi boost...
Its very torquey... Finally fired into life later on this afternoon... big smiles all round... was relieved to hear it running again...
It wasn't without its dramas though...
We was struggling to get the oil light to go out... good job we had no plugs in is all I can say... took forever... must have been air locked or something???
Once we had oil pressure... chucked everything else on... it fired up after alittle play with the Gems... only to see oil p**sing out of the turbo oil feed pipe... was not happy, as this was new...
After alot of looking about woundering what to do... only thing for it was to call Hydramatics ltd... they came out within 30 mins of a phone call, this was around 15:30 on a sunday afternoon don't forget... he collected the faulty pipe... went back to his depo to work his magic... come back 1 hour later with a fresh pipe for a reasonable fee for a sunday IMHO...
Had no other choice... my sister's boyfriend Andy has give up 3 weekends on the trot to get this running, and something has always stopped us from finishing it... couldn't have another weekend go the same...
Anyway... for the fee ££, all was sorted... put it all back together... fired it up... and it was perfect bar a few map tweaks... plus no leaks... the way it should have been in the 1st place!!!
So, a little run out then linked up to the gems and the wideband... and all is sorted... running slightly lean to prevent bore wash while running in...
Will update this alittle later with a few pic's but thats it for now... got a few little jobs to do tommorrow to perfect it...
Plus a phone call to the required company regarding the faulty parts...

A pic of the hero of the day on sunday...

Well, done another oil change today... to be honest it was a right balll ache as we had the same problem as on sunday, couldn't get the oil light to go out while cranking!!!
Good job again the spark plugs were out...
Anyway... I won't say how long it took... but after ringing around, which included speaking to David @ APi...
We ended up dragging the car down the road with no plugs in and slowly brought the clutch up in 2nd... and pretty much instantly the oil light went out...
So, it was pushed back up the drive for the plugs to go in... checked the oil level again... and she fired up 1st time...
Sorry, but I can't risk another bottom end failure... **** way or not... its my money!
I'll get it cleaned up tommorrow and get some nice pic's took...
Done 160 miles in it now... slowly getting there...

Just a quick update... not been on for a while due to Tiscali being down for 10 whole days... tut tut...
Just about to hit 700 miles now, so far so good... due another oil change at 750 miles...lol
Tweak of the map next weekend... only problem I've had so far was a allen key bolt dissapearing from my up-pipe... ( blanked off lamba sensor hole ) made it sound like a tractor...
Still running in at low boost for now...

Still going well yes mate... Another oil change to do on friday, done around the 900 mile mark now... and all seems well...
Saturday and sunday will be spent tweaking the map again and sorting alittle niggly intermittent fault out...
Then within the next couple of hundred miles... another oil change, which will be a move up to semi- synthetic... and the 800cc injectors will be fitted...
Getting there but worth doing it right I think... Its seemed a really long and slow process, but aslong as its all good in the end I'm not bothered...
Only one thing I'm slightly dissapointed in is I don't think I will be making it to TRAX this year on the SIDC stand...
It was the only show I aimed to do this year... but its just turned up alittle soon...
I'll try post some more pic's up later... then another little update for you all on friday...

Just alittle update to let you all know the mapping has gone well... still running on the 440's for now while I get the miles up on it...
On 1060 miles now...
Used half a tank today while out having it mapped... OMG... it wants to go...!!!
I've got some pic's took, i'll sort them out tommorrow...
Will be doing another oil change on tuesday evening, after the day I've had in it today it'll need it... Moving up a oil grade now... going to semi-synthetic...
