awww, thanks Lisa and W

It all started about 3 weeks ago. She had a monthly, at her age Went to the quacks and of course, smear and all that stuff.

Last week she had a few more tests and Monday was a 2 hour session. Very trying for her.
She thought that was going to be it, but they are now wanting to get a camera in there for further investigation. It's the not telling anything that is the worry.
Now got to wait for the appointment. We are all a bit chewed about it as she looks fantastic and feels great.
Can't fault the NHS, they have been pretty swift considering it's only a couple of weeks.

The waiting and not knowing is always difficult, but all you can really do is try to stay positive. At least they aren't dragging it out too much, so hopefully if there is anything going on, they can do something about it. Again, it might not even be anything to worry too much about, but I can totally understand how you feel when in the period of not knowing.

Try and keep your spirits up, and anytime you want to chat, just give me a shout.

Fingers crossed please, people. She has gone through enough
I can only hope that all the tests go well and that the problem is not so bad and easy to sort out.

I know very well what a worry this must be for you both Lee. Certainly got my fingers crossed.

Thanks Les.
A bit of support goes a long way
She is trying to be positive but obviously very worried. Loads of tests in Monday, to be told inconclusive and needs more
Have spoke to my Cousin, in France tonight on msn, her little boy has beaten Luekemia (sp). She is fairly positive for Mam.
Just a waiting game now.
I will be taking her when her appointment comes through, so I am hoping for a good result

Been to see her this afternoon. She was a bit distressed and worried as they have moved the goal posts, so to speak.
I am taking her in on Monday for pre op assesment. And she is booked in for the day, 30th June for a small op. We are hoping it's something like fibroids or polyps. They aren't saying.

Just trying to keep her positive about things.

At least whatever it is, they aren't hanging about. It may all be sudden, but maybe they are just being extra cautious.

Keep positive, it's all you can do, and you know you have people here as well who you can call on anytime.

It's got me in a right bad mood. Am falling out with everyone

Am being the typical, why my Mam. I lost my Dad a long time ago, he died very young. Only 47. So, my Mam is kinda special.

Thanks for the comments, they really do help.
Am chewed to bits for the 30th, so keep out of my way until it is over
I don't mean to be bad tempered, but hey worry takes us all different ways. I know my real friends will understand

I totally understand where you are coming from, and I'm sure others will too.

My Mam is due her check up scan on Tuesday, so I'm worried just about that, and everything may well be fine. I think once something happens, the worry never really goes away, and even if she says she has a pain, or pretty much anything else, I read into it as something more sinister. I'm a natural born worrier though.

Truthfully Lee, you are only human, and you're bound to act out in some way with all this on your mind. Hopefully all will be ok, again try and stay positive, and just be aware there are plenty people here for you, if you need us.

Any true friend will realise what you are going through and make allowances Lee. I would not worry too much about that side.

We are all hoping for good news of course anyway.

Well, she had her 20 minutes op today. It turned into a 2 hour op. Am no further forward and have no idea what they did or found.
Mum did not want any visitors tonight and is well and truly "washed out"
I can't get any news from the hospital and am chewed to bits.
I've texted her tonight, giving her loads of love. Other half went in this afternoon, unannounced and said she looked "done in".
Hope to get some news tomorrow, they have sent "stuff" away to the labs?? Again am up in the air and have no idea.
Sorry, I know you don't to read this but it does help me.

She's bound to be worn out, stress on her mind, and an op will take it's toll.

Hopefully she will perk up over the next couple of days. Again, I can only say we have our fingers firmly crossed for you, and hopefully, this is nothing that can't be sorted, or nothing to worry about. All our love to you all.

Don't ever be sorry for letting things out, we all need to do it at times, and in our own ways. I might update my thread later (not that there's much to say). You need to vent, go for it hun. At least they seem to be acting quickly, so not too much waiting, I think the waiting can be the worst part imo.

xx

Lisa, what has made me sick tonight, literally. Is the fact they said the op would be 20 mins at most and routine. 2 hours in theatre is not 20 mins and is a worry. What the hell have they found
It has knocked my end right in.
Thankfully I have some good pals who are listening, poor beggars and this thread is helping no end. jasey has cheered me up a treat

OMG, I saw your status on FB last night and sent you a PM on there... as I havent been coming in here much so I have missed all about your mums recent things.

What a bloody worry - your poor mum, she has been through so much already. It could be fibroids or polyps - my OH's mum had those and apparently there are quite a few different types of fibroids, which may be why the op took longer than they thought?? I know it's easier said than done ( we went through a another worrying patch with dad a couple of months back) but try not to worry too much until you know what is going on - you'll only end up making yourself sick.

I expect your mum is feeling emotionally and physically worn out from the worry, the op and the after effects. Give her a day or so and she will feel a bit brighter, and hopefully you will have some news soon.

You know where I am if you want to chat, hun. My thoughts are with you & mum.
xx

Totally understand how you feel hun, but as LG said, it could be something like fibroids/polyps, and depending on how many, may have taken longer.

I have a friend (like a second Mam) at work, who was scared to death she had throat cancer not long back. She's a smoker, and had bother with her voice etc. and they 'found' something, naturally she thought the worst. As it turned out, it was polyps, and since her op and recovery time, she has been fine. Hopefully it is something as simple, so to speak.

Tbh, there are no words to make you feel better, only knowing what is going on, and moving on from there, may be able to do that, but try and stay positive not just for your Mam, but for your own good, and rely on the good people you have around you.

Thanks Lisa xx

Just brought her home. She is flaked, bless her. Looks canny though,
results on 20th July. We are hoping it was just a very large polyp. They have not indicated anything worse. So fingers crossed.
Thanks to everyone for your support, it is a great help

Not necessarily cancer related, but need to get this off my chest. Sorry peeps.

As some may know, my Mam had breast cancer, got treated, and we thought all was well.

Anyhow, recently, she had found her cholesterol was high, and got put on tablets for it. Within the last couple of weeks, she had a blood test done to check, and it's flagged up she seems to have a problem with her liver function.

I'm no doctor, and this may be down to the tablets, or something different, but she is scared the cancer has somehow spread, which I guess is not impossible.

I hate to do this, putting myself out there, nut I'm scared she is ill again, and frightened for her.

I'm the first one to say be positive, and I'm saying that to her, but I can't help being scared.

Sorry for going on. I just needed to vent.
