Best wishes to you both Sara, I hope above all that it will get better.
You are lucky Bug Eyed, I just had to go for a melanoma check too and it is a worry. They said mine is ok though but to keep watching it for any spread. Good luck to you with your problem.

I hope your mum is ok, Squaresy
I've got a mole on my back, which I am a bit concerned about. I showed the Dr and I have to go back in 3 months for a further check
Thoughts are with you all

was a very scarey day yesterday. hopefully mum will start to respond to antibiotics soon. as she is on steroids her immune system is shot to pieces so she will catch anything going ATM. the steroids have destroyed my mum, she now looks like Shrek.
its going to be tough for a while, but we are hanging in there
Anna, i hope your back turns out to be ok..thanks everyone for your support

I'm sure the thing on my back is just a mole, but being a fair skinned red head ( is there any other sort?
), and having caught the sun pretty badly a few times over the years, I just want to keep an eye on it.
Yup, echo to what Leslie said.
Keep an eye on it Little Ginge, I went to the docs and they said if it changes colour or shape or bleeds, come back. Mine bled after a shower and I went back and etc etc happened.
I am not trying to lecture anybody here, but I know it may only be a mole but they can and will do serious damage. Sorry I may have harped on a bit but, people beware!!!!
Sorry Sara for interrupting your thread like this.
Give my wishes to your Mum for me and a big
for me.

Nothing any of us can say will make this easier for you. Many of us have been there and comletely understand your pain.
All you can do is be there for her and make sure she knows she's loved.

better news than this morning..................we have been told at the hospital that mums phnemonia hadnt been managed properly and that she was on the wrong antibiotics
we was also told that my mum shouldnt have been left at home losing so much blood since Friday
........she will be having a blood top up later
they think that mum may have a tumour in her bladder and thats what may be causing the blood loss. tomorrow they will have a look with a camera and see if they can stop the bleeding. we are a long way from being out of the woods, its one day at a time.
the hospital that mum is in wont allow electric fans and there is no air conditioning, just great big bladdy windows that wont open............and the hospital heating is on FFS
i hope everyone else is coping with their problems
.and thanks again for the encouragement

this morning my mum sounds much better, the hospital allows the patients to have their mobiles on
if we had taken the advise of the doctors at home i dont think my mum would have made it to the end of the week, she is now on the correct medication and she is responding well
today mum is having some investigations done, will post up how it goes
thanks everyone

Sara, your mum must be soooooo proud of you. Make sure you're looking after yourself too.
I hadn't read this thread for a few weeks, and have just caught up on it. What a rollercoaster. To all of you, Sara, Leslie, dynamix, Charles ....those suffering from it and caring for others, my thoughts are with you all.

cheers for that
mum had a scan on her bladder and kidneys this afternoon and they couldnt see any tumours or a bleed site(i think this is good). they are reluctant to do anything evasive as my mums immune system is down and they dont want to risk any further infections. i think they are waiting for my mum to improve a bit before they use a camera to have a look. mentally my mum is a lot better but she is still desperately ill.
i dont know if she will get over this, but if she does i am prepared for lots more ups and downs. its amazing how so much can change from one day to another....but each day is a new day for us
i am happy for anyone to post on here if they want. this thread is here for anyone that need it
