My car gets detailed nxt tuesday. Can't wait. I seem to be able to notice more swirls every day. It's rotten at the moment as I've not had chance to clean it so may give it a good clean over the weekend. Looking forward to the results of the detail though an especially the stuff he will try to flog me as I want a list of the best gear.

Justin what do u use to dry ur car? I use microfiber clothes but find the results poor if I'm honest. Don't know wether this is down to the clothes or simply the paintwork being crap

Leanne if you are reading this thanks for everything on the phone today.

It was quite surreal to ring up for business banking and have a conversation about subaru's for 20 mins.

Waffle weave towel m8 there great - you just was them in liquid persil with no softener or they stop soaking up

I use 2 for the scooby

but the tip is - after your car has been done when you wash it use a open ended hoze to give it a final rinse then magically it will be almost dry then pat dry with waffle weave

If your really **** then buy a blower and then there will be no drying marks as the water just beads off

No I dont own one im not that bad

Cheers mate. Can't wait to get home tonight as its finished now. He said he had an issue on a few panels as there seemed to be something weird on them so was struggling. He will sort it though.

Also said he will send me an e-mail with a big list of how to clean and look after it as well as all the gear I need. I am going to buy a whole new cleaning empire to look after it mate as I've spent the best part of 400 getting it to this so may as well look after it

Fog what the hells that

Im not a fan of snow foam I find it too harsh also depends on whos you buy but looks the nuts lol

I use a gilmour gun as its too much hassle getting the pressure washer out

do the microfiber test if the car is clean throw the towel on the car bonnet and it just skids right off as the paint is slippery as **** like glass

the fog thing cleans all the bacteria out from inside the car, top gear had someone on doing their cars once, remember when they found all kinds of crap when they tested second hand cars, he did it for nowt so i cant argue.

so the gilmour can be attached to a hose? i dont like using pressure washers as i think they are to harsh.

yes my panels are now all like that mate, well happy, he hada nightmare on a few panels as there was something strange on them, looked like splashes of something, very weird, he got rid of it though. glad i go to the two days instead of one so he wasnt rushed.

Cant wait for the hpotos as you quickly forget how bad it actually was haha.

bought myself two new tyres last night off blackcircles, the two rears on mine were advisories when i bought it, to be honest i should of refused to take it unless he put two new ones on but i had a feeling they would of just put budget ones on, its got 4 proxies on it at the moment and im replacing the back two, my old car ran potenzas but as good as they were i always found them noisy. I decided to take autoexpresses advice and ive bought a pair of the winners from last years massive tyre test, there Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2. Excellent reviews and results all around so ill see how they go. got them both supplied and fitted for 216. going to a garage just up the road from me next saturday to get them fitted.

Justin, i priced up a fair bit of cleaning stuff the other night on cleanyourcar. £100 for the basic sort of stuff with a wax as well, struggling to get a decent mitt though, all i want for now is a good mitt, two buckets with grit gaurds, shampoo, any sort of after care stuff and also some very high quuality towels. you got any links or advice to what to get and where from mate?

Oh dont worry too much about grit guards just dont use the last quarter of your soap bucket a good pre rince keeps grit low and it sinks to the bottom of your bucket anyway if the car is rank say winters day then change your wash and rinse water.twice during washing
