scoobyfastfordsiwhowantedawr1butgotafocus instead, may I pick your financial brains please?
With work as I am travelling I have been given the following options.
1 A monthly travel allowance paid via expenses. Your mileage will increase by 63 miles per day, using the Company rate of 22p per mile this equates to a monthly travel allowance of £557.04. As this will be paid via expenses it will be tax free. (On current expenses I get just under £700 for 10 days)
2 We can issue a Fuel Card for the duration of the contract. This can be used for all personal and all work mileage and all costs are met by the Company. This option is taxable and equates to an approximate cost to you of £90 per month.
3 We could organise a Hire Car for you however this would be a taxable benefit.
What is the best option there? I personally think that it is the fuel card?? I would buy a cheaper car and use that to travel to and from work to save on my mileage, and then let the company fill my evo up for me
If you answer wisely I will get you a drink at the smacs meet
cheers

flip that was quick, I will be doing 153 miles per day. Currently my expenses are paid at 40p per mile so I get £61.20 per day so if it drops to 22 p per mile as per above it means if I use my evo I will only get back what i put in (slightly more) whereas at the moment its costing me about £20 - £25 per day so im making a tidy profit (although adding mileage onto my car which luckily at present is low)

Also what is the extra 63 miles per day they are referring to?
Also on the fuel card do you know how they get to £90?
PM me if you want fella
think the 63 miles is each way
The 22p is standard expenses rate if it is part of your contract, im currently getting the 40p as its not part of my existing contract so I get it at a higher rate, (however after certain annual mileage it does drop anyway)
Dont know where they get the £90 from for the fuel card, is that something that there shouldnt be a charge for?
So far fastfordwantedawr1eventhoughtheyaregheyincolour you are earning your right to a drink
