I've been dealing with customers and suppliers for the past 10 years, having a bit of a laugh and banter is a good thing as it builds up relationships as a result they tend to go the extra mile with you.

Also why dont you say to your boss, that you will do an nvq level * in customer service (at their expense) the one I am doing has quite a bit on building customer relations and rapports etc.

I like to think I am a good boss, im approachable, funny, I fart and blame other people (in a customers office as well really funny that one), but I can also have a serious side as well
