I did read it, it mentions England, so what - it goes on about building Jerusalem but it already exists in another Country - ffs

OllyK - no sour grapes here m8, I'm not Welsh!

I prefer the lyrics of another song:

There will always be an England,

As long as Scotland's there.

Get it up ye!!

But if she ever exercised that power independent of parliament then we would become a republic quicker than you can say "revolution".

GSTQ/K may never win an anthem Eurovision but the lyric about 'crushing rebellious Scots' should surely go. You cant shout 'British' with one breath and then stick that in there [Scots have know this for some time!]

Lord grant that Marshal Wade
May by thy mighty aid
Victory bring.
May he sedition hush,
And like a torrent rush,
Rebellious Scots to crush.
God save the King!

We may have moved on from obsequious sycophancy to rather individuals? But that's another chat, subjects

I also saw this out there "GOD SAVE THE QUEEN is sung in the United Kingdom as a matter of tradition. It has never been proclaimed the national anthem by an Act of Parliament or a Royal Proclamation."

Do you think that the Services, who swear allegiance to the Monarchy, would support Billy instead of her then B in J?

Stick to your boring ENGLISH national anthem - God save the Queen.

I noticed that as usual after one win the good old English commentators reckon that's the Grand Slam on for England & the Six Nations Championship won - they only beat a badly injury depleated Welsh Team. (and with a Wee bit of cheating from Matt Dawson and some good old referee bias)

Get it up ye!!

Big Den
Not withstanding the over the top celebrations last year when Wales narrowly beat an English side that was not only hopeless but playing appallingly bad Rugby, it seems that you only want to see what you want to see. I remember being told on here how good Wales were and the way they were talking themselves up last week just proves my point - they arent' that good, particularly if they don't have the strength in depth to cover injuries.

Referee bias. The last bastion of bad losers.

As for the National Anthem, try listening to Advance Australia Fair for a truly bad anthem with equally kak lyrics! Stick with what you've got and don't do down the route of changing something for the sake of change which is what happened in Oz.

Flat cap - forgive the 'Samson & Goliath' thing of 'over the top celebrations' pls. A gene pool of 47million potential rugger heroes versus a handfull of south wales pis$heads deserves a good few cheers.

Who's STILL a bad loser now, maybe?

D

PS much better reffing last year but good luck on your upcoming Grandslam!

I agree with Billy Connolly the National Anthem should be replaced by the theme tune from the Archers
