Guys why is it that when you spend £27k on an STi you have to get Prodrive springs fitted to make the car handle right.

What a bloody rip off, I know this as I've been there. So why can't we get a car out of the box that doesn't need all these bits added on to make it as it should have come in the first place.

Could you imagine going into a dealer, "Good morning sir, I see your interested in a new STi, what a good choice. Well to achieve the full potential I would suggest you have PPP, Springs, PFF-7s yadda yadda yadda.......

Hmmm, now a £27k car in reality is actually £31.5k, and for £30k you can get a Spec-C RA Ltd not a difficult choice is it.

no different to other manufacturers though - not everyone wants or needs the extras and this way they can keep the base cost down so people can get into the car for less. sure if they want to acheive the full potential they would want to add more but that's the whole point of 99% of threads on here or indeed other car forums.

Hey Mike,

Have you perfected your "Heat Soak" argument ready for when the car doesn't perform as well as you quote when the magazines test it?

Will you be able to "get 4.6 secs all day" in this one - or do you expect it to be quicker?

Having seen the MY07 photos - are Prodrive thinking of producing a "PPB" kit?

Prodrive Paper Bag ??

PMSL ... I take it you let your daughter write this post then.

Unremapped???? Definitely got your facts wrong there.

Warranty???? The car has a full warranty, as the dealer I used was warranty friendly!

Tracked ... yeh it has been and that was in the for sale post. lol the guy who bought it is funnily enough using it as a track toy so is fully aware. I suppose my dyno read outs and receipts from the company that remapped the car were enough for him!

I feel sorry for your kids Martin if they grow up to be anything like you ...

In any case this post is about PPP on the 06 Subarus not your jealousy and crap spouting about your halfords tuned car being better than a subaru prepared motor.

I feel sorry for Mike really, having to come onto this site and read posts by people like you which have no fact in them whatsoever. The plain fact of the matter is that you can't afford a new Subaru or for yours to be modded properly and under warranty by Prodrive. Therefore you choose to slate them at every given opportunity, which I guess must make you feel better about yourself somehow.

I on the other hand am happy to wait until Prodrive release the PPP for the 06 cars ... my 06 will be one of the first booked in I can guarantee you!!

i do not slate them as there are several prodrive products on my car and i am happy with them,i was not happy with prodrive regarding my sti 03 ppp stutering poor fuel economy all improved by remap,i had contacted subaru/prodrive and was told an ecu reset would be fine-did not work so i was not happy with customer service-seeing how i never paid for ppp in first place i did not lose any money by going to a more professional tsl all imho

lol ... you still haven't got over the WR1 being a better car standard than your halfords STi 'with chargecooler' ... it's ok Martin I understand your bitterness - when you can afford to play with the bigger boys come back and start up the argument again.

So I'll see you in about 30 years I guess!

Anyway back on topic ... again .

Any idea of potential power figures after PPP yet Mike?

you might even be able to afford insurance on your own policy by then!
no answer on who remapped your car then i wonder why,is it because it invalidates the subaru warranty?i am not bitter about you needing to modify your wr1 to keep up with peugeots etc

Principles Martin are what get you deals and to places in this world that you don't get being Captain **** and a grass!

Why did you have your STi halfords tuned then???? To keep up with .... ???? Obviousely your feelings of inadequacy go further than just your *****.

maybe if you read the above posts you would see the reason for the mods explained ,i like the way that you seem unable to reply without insults proving your point of being stupid as standard as why else would you resort to school name calling?

i take it the principles you refer to are decatting a wr1,getting it remapped by halfords and then expecting someone else subaru to pick up the pieces !and then you sell the car mmmmm very responsible-NOT
