Graham, i'm waiting to get the engine, it wasnt convenient to get it over christmas tbh. Its been one of those breaks. Kids ill, too many family do's to attend, etc. So suspension was all i could think of doing

The inlet manifold is the one i had modified by DW way back in April 2004 and used on my front entry setup. Th snag at the time was, due to how we modified it, it was like the air hit a brick wall once passed the TB.

So, i had it modified again, boxing off the section behind the throttle body. This has had the benefit of slightly increasing the plenum size. It will be interesting to see what effect it has, if any.

John (t-uk), sorry i missed an earlier question. With regard to the DCCD, i have managed to secure a DCCD controller for the diff, so will be fitting that. I did think about buying the motec controller, but couldnt be bothered to spend the money. I will operate a similar setup to Andy where he had an overide switch on the steering wheel to fully lock the diff, and revert back to the dial setting once released.

Interesting write up steven. It's good to get the history of people's cars as you can get snippets here and there but not know the full story.

How on earth did they manage to paint the engine bay or was all the gubbins removed

Cheers Andy , trust yours is coming along well.

Floyd, they removed as much of the stuff as they could, and then masked round anything else. Looks good now.

I thought it would be useful, more as a reminder to myself, to write the history, as it kind of details how the focus has changed in 4 years.

The short block arrived in Yorkshire yesterday, cheers Rob, i just need to collect it from DW's and then i can perhaps start making more meaningful progress.

John, i havent asked (stoopid i know) what bore clearances exists, i left that to the engine builder and Mark, both i trust implicitly, as there knowledge on that matter is far far greater than mine.

Mike (oldfella), yes i will be going with the lateral sump, see pictures of the prototype below. I have my name down for one of the 1st of the production run.

I also secured some heads, which have been ported extensively, have double valve springs, single piece valves, and nice cams.

New Lateral Sump that will be going in.

I havent done any work on the car, as i caught a nasty bout of flu off the kids, which knocked me out for a week, and i am now still playing cathup with work, which is always busy in January due to the Tax Return deadline on the 31st!!!!

Booked a week off mid Feb, when i hope to make big progress on the car.

A box full of stuff arrived today from Mark, which should enable me to do some bits on sunday, subject to hangover (dads 60th tomorrow).

Included in the box was one of the sumps from the 1st batch of production models. F'ing awesome piece of kit. Will try take some pics tomorrow.

Work is still mental, so its a case of finding a minute to do the odd thing.

Progress will be made.

Mark, theres no tape on the plates, its just the camera deception of the plate thats on the frame as standard. Its been resprayed black, so looks shiney.

Steve, not really done it of late, but including the car, i guess i must be over £40k by now!
