Very enjoyable - did anybody have network problems last night - My connection went very slow and I disconnected quite a few times

 

Anybody preordered special forces yet ?

 

I had to wait ages to log onto the BF2 account server, probably around 5 mins. Once I was on the SNAFU server it was ok though.

Not pre-ordered Special Forces but shall be buying!!

 

Great fun last night lads. Played OK on the first map, then it all went **** up when I decided to fly the jets

Yeah the account servers were playing up last night and the stats servers were down.
Add to that we (SNAFU) have issues with our community site today (logged with MPuk)

As for Special Forces - preordered a week or two ago

I did notice no unlocks, is that standard?

 

My unlocks were working?!

 

unlocks were working to start off with but when I got disconnected and tried to get back in my unlocks had disappeared. Most likey linked to the problems with the stats servers

Yep - its cos the stats servers were down.

I'll switch the maps back today, so tomorrow nights include city maps...

Any ideas why my game kept dropping out? It was ok for an hour and a half then every 10 minutes or so I'd notice the hard disc 'accessing a lot' (it seems to be the norm in BF2, but this took it to another level) and seconds later the game would be gone completely.

I'm sure my stats would have been a lot better otherwise Good game apart from that. The city maps are definitely the best ones

You should be able to cut down the HDD access times by adding more RAM, I run 2Gb and it seems ok even in my relatively old system.

 

I had issues last night too, I think PB might have been updating and/or our server had issues - as a few were having problems.

I'll bounce the server before Sunday.

 

Anyway of altering your username on BF2 once it's registered? I'm referring to adding the SNAFU tag? Would be a shame to have to start a username again and lose all the unlocks!

And may finally get to join in this evening. Girlfriend gets the hump when I play BF2 and ignore her. Apparently disappear for hours, though feels like minutes Then get accused of not wanting to have sex. Imagine!!!

She's on nights tonight and Tuesday, so rock on...

 

If you get the go-ahead from the clan then adding the SNAFU tag is as easy as typing it in via the new 1.03 name prefix option. But you've have to get the nod from the clan first m8. JOin in tonight anyway, have a few games and let us know who you are

I assume you normally get some turnout?

 

You should be able to add a clan tag prefix to your registered name, so you shouldn't lose all your accrued stats/unlocks.
As for your girlfriend, there's a few on this thread (me included) with similar problems - tell her to go do some ironing while you play
