I have a few tractors juiced up and ready to go, fully loaded with all the toys, 24 forward gears, 24 reverse, air con, cd players, 32" rims, flared arches, big `ol exhaust, 4 wheel drive.......
And a few horses, but they will have to be fueled by yourselves ( they do have a `dump valve` though!)
Tescos still have fuel in Chelmsford as of 20 mins ago, but a big Q.

I was driving home from work on vapors monday evening blissfully unaware of the problem (LOL Ironic really considering I work in a TV shop surrounded by some 40 plasma's and LCD's) found the garage shut but thought nothing of it, coasted home and then found out? Had a full emergency can in the shed, that gave me enough to go fule hunting, my last chance was the BP London Rd Westcliff they had fule but it was closed and under Police guard so I pulled over had a quick chat with an undestanding officer who kindly opened the block and let me in WOOHOO so much to my relef I now have a full tank .

But my dad is a petrolium pipe fitter, this week he has been driving all over the south east doing odd jobs in petrol stations and today he said he saw 2 fights and one person run over (Not badly) by people trying to get fule ? Aparently they are talking about starting a minimum £20 purchase to stop people topping up in a panic to relive the build up on the forecourts?

I think the minimum spend is a good idea ....... The last fuel crisis, a friend of mine worked at a filling station. Someone actually Q'd 20 minutes to top up with £3-£4 worth of fuel, he did ask the customer whether it was worth him doing it, to which the bloke didn't say a thing .

I believe that if everyone carried on as usual, there would be no problem ........ But you know what they say about people being like sheep .

Nate.
You are dead right mate. One tesco store sold an additional £31,000 worth of fuel on monday, an increase of 78% to the previous monday, thats why they sold out. Same story in every garage, those which normally put in £10 a week are now filling up their tanks just in case, people filling up daily rather than waiting until they are down to a low level etc etc. The same store has received 3 deliveries in the space of about 8 hours and have no issues as yet with future deliveries.
I was fortunate enough to be able to fill up my run around with diesel on the closed forecourt, I did however have to "pretend" to be an on call doctor to prevent a riot

There was no problem getting in to work this morning. No blockade at all at the refinery. In fact there were 5 cars parked by the roundabout.

1 was a security truck
apparently 2 were media
and I assume the other 2 were lonely protestors

I was hoping to be turned away and be back in bed by 8.00 this morning!

All this panic over nothing!

although the police helicopter is now hovering over the refinery entrance....maybe its all kicking off!

As Fozzie says, I got to work at 7:00 this morning, and all there were was 5 cars, one of which was the essex FM radio news crew, and BP security on the gates.

Betts and I were ontop of the fillingplant roof doing some repairs and had a good view of the round about, which nothing happened, the most exciting thing was when the BBC and police helicopters flew over head

Do you think this may have been a very clever move, just making threats and knowing that the general public would do the dirty work for them. If it was it was a great way of making a point without doing anything illegal.

Then again it may have just been lucky

Imagine how much revenue the government raised in such a short time ..... Makes you wonder whether it was a conspiracy to swell the coffers for something .
