Would you sell your scoob because of petrol prices?

Buy a cheap run around for work, and keep the scoob for weekend fun - that's what I do - keep it special and the mileage down

It's not the fuel thats costing us all the most, it's the depreciation. Bottom line is you can't put an economical reason forward for buying a Scoob or Evo, it's a car of the heart not the head. If I sold my 02 Scoob STi I would have probably lost £12000 easy, I've spent less than £5000 on fuel. I think owning anythiong after a Scoob would seem cheap to run.

That's a good idea. I haven't considered getting rid of mine (only had it 3 months) but it is hard to stomach shelling out £50 each time I fill up.
A scooter might be the answer, if if I'd look like a ****!!!

Bit of a dilema here ! Won't sell the scoob no matter what but can take a company car option BUT i lose £300 a month and the company mileage is paid at 10p a mile rather than 40p a mile. I do approx 300 company miles a month ! Or do i buy a cheap vectra and have a second car ???

No!
Must admit to using a cheap motor to get to work and back, but I would use the scoob if I didn't think it would get stolen or vandalised in the car park!!!

No chance!
But seriously thinking about a small second hand TD, probably a Fabia TDi if I can find a sensibly proced one to keep it company. £50+ a week in fuel is starting to bite

i've recently done this, sold my impreza and i've now got a golf gt tdi instead, i was using my impreza to travel to work which was costing £40 a week and it was costing over £100 on petrol to see the misses a few times a week and due to rallying commitments i had to make a choice, needless to say i'm now happy with the golf and the 50+miles it does per gallon and i enjoy rallying at the weekends in the rally car. i do miss the impreza though but not the running costs.
