I'm not sure the weekend of the BH track day is a good idea, but I'll take advice from the powers-that-be!
The reason we want to keep it purely members only is becasue we are going to get sufficient demand from memebers only, so why open it up to anyone else? We will be sending out a flyer as I have already mentioned to enable non-internet users to particiapte. There is nothing to stop us arranging a seperate event for an 'inter-club' or general bash at a later date.

Stef,

26th October would be ideal for us travelling down to BH if it was possible.

We are leaving Scotland early in the morning, stopping off at the NEC in Birmingham for the Motor Show, and then onto BH.

If we could stop off past for a few hours karting as well, it would be a fantastic two days We would take two teams of 4 as a minimum.

As everyone taking part in this event will be SIDC members, why not take bookings for individuals as well, and allocate teams on the night.

We are about to have a karting event in Scotland using the pro-karts next week. Teams must have an average driver weight of 80Kg. Heaviest team gets pole position, lightest team starts last on grid. Teams with average weights less than 80Kg get a 20 second delay at the start of the race.

These rules mean that the better/lighter teams have to work harder at the start of the race, and the positions will be closer for much of the race, making for better competition

John,

That's a good idea about weight.

Saves me having to chop off the odd arm and leg to try and gain a few seconds a lap.

John.
I'll have to see whether the track is available on that day for a start, but I'll see what I can do.
I think the main concern is that some people may be driving down for the karting, then have to go home again, then drive back down the next day for BH. They could stay over somewhere, but not everyone is able to do so.

Thumbs up

Stef,

Any chance of fixing it on a day when it rains - far more fun!!!

Count myself and my brother in. Will need an extra person to keep the cost down - anyone from the Hertford area interested?

Phil

OK guys n gals.
The circuit has been booked for Saturday October 12th at 2pm.
It was decided not to hold it during the Brands weekend (sorry John & co.).
The format will be a 1 1/2 hour endurance with teams of three (no more, no less).
The cost will be £120 per team or £40 per driver which is excellent value.
If you cannot make up a team of three we can allocate you together on the day.
Deatails of exactly where to send cheques will be posted soon, and a flyer will be going out next week to all SIDC members.
Please confirm those that have expressed an interest whether this date is OK.
