SIDC Endurance Karting Event!!!!!!
#1
Woohoooy!
It's that time of year folks, and another SIDC Endurance Karting event is unfolding it's tired wings after a year of deep sleep in a little cave somewhere right up there in the outer reaches of Scoobyland!
To celebrate my recent appointment as 'Motorsport Secretary' for the club (go-karting's motorsport isn't it? ) the event will be held once again at the superb Daytona Raceway in Milton Keynes.
All I need at the moment is an idea of who would be interested in attending.
It will be the same format as before, teams of 2 or 3, cost approx £150 per team.
It is only open to SIDC members, so please do not post if you are not, or do not intend to be an SIDC member.
If you're not, memberships are now being accepted for the next year so it could be a good excuse to join!!
I hope to arrange it for some time in October or perhaps early November.
More information on the location can be found at

a) I'll join SIDC.
b) I'll go.
Which circuit is it likely to be?
The Midlands team(s) starts here....
Chris.

Stef, it's shame that ALL team members have to be SIDC members because I'd be prepared to BET £1,000 TO CHARIDEE that my team would win.
Bu99er. I guess we'll never know now.

Count me in, as long as it's the outdoor track in Milton Keynes.
Last time I was there they had added computer dashboards to the karts, so you can see how far behind/ahead you are of the next/previous person, race postition etc etc!

Would you be able to arrange it for around the 27th October, when our Scottish friends will be down here? That is if they have any interest in it eh John Stewart?
Me and the wife are interested in any case!

Stef,
Since it were I, me, myself wot mentioned it to you, it should go without saying, but.....
Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes,Ye s,Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes,Yes,
Josh
PS I think it would be a shame if there wasn't some scope for no members. What about 1 per team?

Hi Trig. I knew that post was a mistake the moment I sent it!
The truth is I reckon I could field an odds-on favourite squad of hot-shot ringers (I would be non-driving team manager!) but a) this isn't in the spirit of a fun race, b) there are three weeks at the end of October/early November when it can't be done and c) I ain't got a grand to lose!
Sorry. I feel a pillock now. It's just the old competitive spirit getting the better of me.

I'm in!!
Got to defend the crown, haven't I!
I'm not sure if BennyBoy's into Scoobys any more - he was in my team - are you there, Benny?
I like the '1 non member only per team' idea - it might help to get other people interested apart from anything else.
Otherwise, anyone else from Harlow/Bishop's Stortford/Stansted area want to form up a Kick-*** team? email me if interested, especially if you 1. have Karting experience, 2. weigh less than 11 stone, 3. are a mad ba****d.
Tony
PS, I'm racing the new ThunderKarts at Daytona on 9th September - single big 4 stroke engine, lighter than ProKarts, couple of seconds a lap quicker - I'll post with a report.
