Yes the eve was quicker than my 330, but the scoobs were far and away from dicking it. Wake up to the fact that scoobs are not the fastest things on the roads, chill out and try the more relaxed approach to performance motoring without 4WD sapping 25% of your power! No doubt when you have grown up a bit, you will realise that the all conquering scoob is in fact a figment of scooby owneres imaginations.

I do open my eyes, I do usually shut them to start with when my P1 pulling over 350 bhp hits the 0-60 closer to 4 seconds than you can mange to 6. You may not have read correctly but I had an M3 prior to the P1, and it was sooooooo boring and sadly so common. I don't race often at all, I like country roads, don't see as many repmobile 330's out there, but when i do get some tool trying it on, no-one, and i mean no-one has got close. I know it is beatable, of course, but not by much. Limiter at 155? but I don't have any trouble hitting the 160 in the scoob's either.

What an utter tosh statement. The 3-series BMW is more common than the Ford Mondeo ! There's nowhere near as many Imprezas on the road than BMs
At Bedford on good friday this year i took my 320bhp sti for some jollies
i' overtook a GT3 because i knew the track
i was later overtaken by a vw gti because he was simply a better driver!
Its all down to experience (did'nt see any beemers though

Top Gear have done well with the Scoob - evo did not get results that were quite as flattering
In terms of top speeds - it is wonderful to be at Elvington with all the banging talk of how fast their Scoobs are, until the majority pull in real top speed results of high 130s/low 140s not the bar talk 160s
Incredibly few Scoobs have cracked 160 and not that many make 150 through the timer.

Im sure we all have stories to tell down to the driver really at the end of the day and the attitude at that time. Beemer driver was probably late for his next appointment but then they generally drive that way all the time. Rather avoid em to be honest cause most are sour faced company car owners so they can thrash and break em so it dont matter and they generally dont wanna play.
Listen to you all,
What the differenec is the scoob was a milder version of the rally WRC car homologated for the road.
The BM is from where????????????? Nowhere. Therfore it is a car used from cruising around and not deriverd for track/rally action
So in conclusion they are 2 completely different vehicles.
The fact an impreza driver had a "scare" with one is the end of the world.
And yes i do own another car which would "eat" (how chav) most of the scoobs in this discussion. but i certainly don't brag about it
I just enjoy what I've got.

Does this mean that you only drive around sticking absolute to the speed limit? Never going over 60 as this would mean putting other drivers at risk??????? I think you need to get out more.

Regarding the quality of driver, Top Gear proved it, Clarkson spent all day racing round the Ring in that Jag, 9m59s if i remember rightly, the German bird then had one, One go, and was about 40s quicker. and Clarkson's no **** driver.

They just feel slower as they are smoother - much like my Pork which feels quite slow - but is faster against the clock than my STi 5 was when it was standard. Again the lack of turbo kick makes it feel slow - and on paper the Pork actually is slower.

say 0-60 is 6.9.
And the kerb weight is about 1,585kgs.
Thats about 250kgs more than my scooby.
The M3 e46 is 0-60 in 5.5 secs with 112 more bhp

Firstly, Thrashing a car round a track puts loads more stress on your car. Maybe not the engine as such as these are built to run & run, But it is common knowledge that your brakes and tyres take a hell of a bashing, not to mention fuel consumption, and I dare bet the gearbox would get more abused on track than it would on the road, as the wannabe racing driver mode takes over.
Secondly. The whole point in the thread was to get peoples reaction to the Bridgestone RE070 tyre. My original thread said that we both went round the corner at the same speed, but while his car gripped, mine started to drift. This made me question the grip of the RE070 tyre. A lot of the replies imply that I need driving lessons. Why? would that make the tryes grip more? NO. Jenson Button could have been driving my car, the tyres still would have let go. To me I'm a good driver as I seemed to have less grip but still kept up. I drove around the lack of grip.
When I get my new alloys, I'll be wrapping them up in Pilot sport 2's, as I feel that this is a better tyre. I'll have to wait and see if I'm correct, but my Focus RS never let go with them on.
