Smile Insurance

£700 ish, £250 excess, 35years old, missus, Full NCD, ****-end part of Wigan (we have more than our fair share of use the police helicopter in our area). Completely standard MY05 WRX300. I didn't think that this was a bad quote - we were paying £500 for our 3year old Astra 1.6 SXi with Zurich prior to changing to the Scoob last week! Like others have said, insurers don't make much sense.

happy motoring Andrew

haha. well thats what i get for being a small child at 20 yearsold. that quote actually sounded good to me. it would drop a bit next year. Iam a student who works as a chef part time but I am full time between may-october. I rake in loadsa money in the summer and have noting to spend it on. I have always wanted a scoob so il get one. I worked summer of 2003 to buy my C2. i dont look at it as spending 20K i look at it as spending a summer working like a biatch. to buy what i want. put it this way my mates are going to come out of uni with 10K + debts and im going to have a bit of cash and a new scoob. perks of staying at home for uni i spose.

P1 fairly standard other than brake upgrade, back box and air filter. Max no claims age 37 £699 inc protected no claim bonus with A-plan (incl discount for tracker).

Always used to be with Liverpool Victoria (last 4 years) but their premium shot up to £1200 this year, not sure why?

Graham.

Sti 8 type uk PPP Pff7 wheels, Prodrive springs

953 fully comp and protected NCB Tracker fitted 38 years old LV by the way

I'm really not sure where some of these quotes are coming from. I live in a 'safe' post code area, never had a claim and I have rung round all these 'so called' cheap insurers and my quotes are no where near some that are listed in this thread.

I remember a thread like this before and it turned out that a lot of people hadn't been exactly honest about there cars or had misinterpreted what the insurer had sent them a certificate for.

I'm not saying people haven't got genuine quotes, but always make sure you really are covered for the sake of a few hundred quid extra

Oh and I have never been banned and currently have a clean licence

Good luck

Steve

Echo what was just said. Am 30yrs old 8yrs ncd, no points/convictions. Had a nightmare time trying to get ' good' price for 01 wrx ppp. My findings are that NU, Direct Line, Privilage are good for 30+ drivers with clean licence and lots of ncd. Indeed there seems to be many people out there who have got cheap prices but only if ure the right side of 30. Finally got insured Fully comp for £757, declared the prodrive, protected my NCD and £250 excess......will do me for this year until next time round when I'l do it all again...well worth shopping around the less well known companies you hear about in this forum

i've got a very good proce and talked at length to the guy to ensure that the power increase was clear - from 215 to 250bhp...that's within 25% on anyones calculator which is the quoted power increase.

I've got a standard 2000 reg Turbo 2000 AWD. I'm 34, 12 years NCD, 0 points, girtlfrind on policy and she's had accident within the last 3 years. Car is fitted with Subaru cat 1 alarm immobiliser system and had tracker Monitor system fitted. Insured with Privilege for £526 which I think is a fairly good deal
