Least depreciating cars ?

A decent clio williams will hold its value pretty well and may even appreciate provided you give it plenty of tlc.
EVO 6 TME and P1s will be starting to look like a reasonable buy once they drop to about 12k mark.
Elise s2 values have really fallen hard and are quite a good buy for the cheapest ones as the moment.
New cars
Elise?
Boxster?
911?
...you must be joking.
Buy as old as you can/dare if you dont want to lose your shirt on most cars. I recall a thread on hear a year or two back about how the current M3 had bullet proof residuals... hmmm... nuff said.

Some of the cars mentioned (Porsche's etc) will cost a massive amount more to run/service/maintain than a 205 1.9 Gti for example so it depends what the car will be used for (dialy drive, motorway mile muncher, something 'fun' for the weekend?)
You could buy a brand new Mini Cooper S and pay £100 for 5 years free servicing, keep it for 1½-2 years when the turbo version is due out, then trade it in for one or sell and only lose hundreds unlike thousands with most other cars. Only costing you the petrol, oil & consumables like tyres, brakes etc...
Then again Mini's might not be your thing

911 Turbo. There's an article on this vs. the 928 in one of the classic car mags this month. The car in the article cost summit like £21k when new in 85 or 86 and is now valued at £24k.
How's about a 968 club sport - they've depreciated a bit (didn't think they'd ever drop..) but are still very sought after.

You need to go older really, perhaps a 635 csi or an older jag or a 70s 911, if you want some fun perhaps a TR5 or 6 you wont lose on any of these but obviously buying the right one is key otherwise you'll end up spending a fortune on it.

Honda Accord 2.2i 4WS.
Just bought a '91 model as a run about car for whilst I look for a decent car. Paid £600 quid for a car that completely outspecs the Scooby I had previously. Only cost me £600 so I don't expect it to depreciate at all
Found the original purchase invoice for it though, it cost £22.5k brand new in July ,91 !! I think I've seen off the worst of the depreciation somehow.

Buy a car for £500 you won't loose much on that, even if you can only run it for 6 months.
I spent 1.5K on my ZX will do 20K in it over the 12 months Im keeping it will sell on for 1K.
Im not sure 911's hold there value, same with the Boxster S, my uncle has ordered a GT3, and the options were well over 20K, sell it on a week later no way he will get the full value inc options.
