Makes me laugh when you see the anti mob saying "Its now law, decided in a democracy so the they should respect that" - Blindingly obvious to the fact they've been doing the exact opposite for years.

If it was their right to try and get the law changed in their favour - then why should the "other side" not enjoy the same right to get the law changed. None so blind as the bigoted.

I think it will be more likely to be game fishing since those bigots see it as a pastime for the upper classes, just as they see fox hunting.

It will be yet another victory for the inverted snobs like PSL who showed his vicious hate for what he sees as the titled classes and that was really the only reason he and they wanted it banned-nothing to do with the fox's welfare at all!

They would really be pushing their luck to ban coarse fishing since so many of their votes will be perceived to come from that direction.

The fact that fly fishing, like fox hunting is mostly a pastime for those of us who can be classed as being well out of the titled stakes. I like most anglers these days like to go coarse and fly fishing. As a matter of interest, the England International Fly Fishing team is almost totally made up of ex coarse anglers who are definitely not titled.

This of course is of no interest to the bigots since they just want the excuse to get back at the upper classes.

Most of us fish for the pot anyway and any fish we catch are dispatched instantly and painlessly.

If they want to ban it then they would also have to ban sea fishing by trawlers since all the fish they catch die a slow death by suffocation.

Since we know that PSL likes to go fishing, I wonder whether he will support his hero if he goes for a ban on that.

Maybe however PSL is going off for a few days again like the last couple of times so that he does not have to answer that one!

During the reign of Comrade Bliar he has presided over the creation of 1,000 new crimes. That comes to about 1 every 3 days. Now, in that time technology has not changed much so there isn't a lot of new technology to regulate so this can only mean one thing: most of these new crimes turn something that was considered quite legal for a long time into a crime.

Of course a certain percentage are sure to be sensible but many include things like "holding an unlicensed concert in a church hall" and are merely further attempts to eat into and attack rural life and freedom of thought for both rural and urban dwellers.

With Bliar about to become head of the G8 nations and with his stated aim to be controlling so called "Global Warming" I am sure that we are about to see another raft or utterly mad regulation aimed at the rural dweller. As part of this revolution I am sure we will see the green Stalinists, such as those nutters in Greenpeace, "empowered" and that they will use this position to try and regulate travel, farming, country sports, land ownership, land use and a wide range of other aspects of life.

To pick on fishing, or shooting, as an example of what will be the next aspect of normal life to fall victim to the green nutters is correct but it misses the more fundamental point which is that these people are being handed control of all our lives in a manner that even Stalin could only have dreamed of. When satellites were first talked about I wonder did he ever suspect, for example, that they would be used to enforce control in the UK that was beyond even his reach in the USSR?

With this in mind it is important to fight the Stalinists who are hiding behind the various "green" disguises on every front. Real environmentalism is important to everyone who engages in country sports, or farming, or who owns land or who just enjoys a walk in the countryside of a weekend but this is not what organisations like Greenpeace offer, they offer real Stalinism hidden behind a thin disguise and directly supported by the UK administration as a way of gaining control of the citizens.

This is a great thread! People moaning and blaming the govt for something which hasn't happened and wont either . Have I missed something? Is a fishing ban imminent? Is there massive public support for it? Can we just make stuff up to complain about now? Aliens landed in my garden last night and ate my shed and it's all the governments fault.

I used to be a very keen sea angler, was in various clubs and fished competitions all over country.

But haven’t been for about 2 years, got sick of all the goody goody animal rights **** coming along the beach giving me crap. Didn’t so much mind when it happened during a competition with a couple of thousand anglers along the coast line. But it became very intimidating when I was by my self or with my dad standing on top of a cliff or miles away from any one else on a beach with 10 hippies shouting what I was doing was wrong.

But to be honest no matter how hard they try to ban sea fishing there is just too much coastline to enforce an effective ban. Just look at poaching for salmon that’s illegal but still loads of people do it.

But after fox hunting you have got to wonder what will be next, there will always be some one there to pick fault at something another person may take pleasure from.

my money is on pigeon racing
