You can get the more popular STI version of both cars, which share the same drivetrain, for the same years.

You can get the less popular WRX version of both cars, without all the STI/DCCD/waterspray/Redtop additions. Once again identical to the mainstream drivetrain of the standard WRX for that year.

You can get a Blue V-limited version of ALL of the above cars (Incl. Non STI) from 98 onward. Mechanically they are the same as their non vlimited couterparts, except the STI RA (Not sure on the STI-R here!), which has a taller 5th and quickrack.

RA's come as standard with very little in the way of options, most were bought with optional extras of Electic windows, AC etc,. Hence the first generation RA's are the most basic as buyers had not 'caught on'.

R's came as standard with most of the more popular options added in.

Well, Ill be!. Someone IS claiming to have a 2door RA.

Id need to see the pics

Hol/RRH,

I think its a misprint, the R was the code designation for the shell, so you cannot really have a Retna altered can you
Where as the RA is Race Altered, otherwise it would mean you have a Retna Race Altered so it wouldnt be a 2 door RA but a 2 door RRA

But not as standard, unless it was a limited.
Only the STi type RA had the quick rack standard.

I'm afraid there wasn't mate. I have the model report book from Subaru/Fuji Heavr Industries with EVERY model made by them and STi. The ONLY 2 door Imprezas made were the 22B, WRX Type-R, and the WRX STi Type-R. All RA's are 4 doors.

I must admit I had looked ata few model reports and lists and never seen a vltd 2 door RA. The only one I thought might of been out was a 2 door RA that had been sent straight to a Rally Team for building.

Does the limited mean you can only get to 112mph LOL. Surely it will be mainly cosmetic stuff like seats and badging that is the difference although if its a WRC car then your talking a different ball game completely.

Yeah but Australia doesn`t count LOL you lot all drive upside Down (Only kidding) I thought all 2 doors were named type R.

You lucky buggers get all the good cars. The only way we get em is through personal imports involving owning the car overseas for 12 months and then importing it. Our domestic market STI's are poverty pack editions of the jap spec car with all the best fruit stripped out. ie. Our 2 door coupe was a version V, no DCCD, no close ratio box, STI red manifold engine and 206kw out of the factory and slightly tricker interior, but thats about it. I was considering a working holiday to the UK to get an RA but one came up for sale over here. STI RA VI Limited. So its the 4 door STI version 6 with RA close ratio box, dccd, R180 diff and weight saving options, with all the creature comforts added back in (the limited part) such as a/c, elec windows, taller 5th etc. IMHO (and very biased opinion) the best rex to own out of the classic shape.

Out of this lot I just have the roof vent. I think the blue stuff came with Version 6 but not sure.
I have the list of Type R stuff which is.

Standard STI WRX Type R Features:-

Standard Equipment:
STi Blue Printed Engine
STi Group N Low Ratio Gearbox
STi ECU
STI Stainless Exhaust (Sodium Filled) -
STi Inverted mono-tube strut suspension.
STi Aluminium lower suspension arms
STi Carbon front strut brace
STi Carbon rear strut brace
STi Anti roll bar
STi Intercooler & inlet manifold
STi Forged molybdenum pistons
STi Quick shift
STi quickrack 13:1 steering
AP Organics Clutch
STi Large-size engine under tray
Reinforced Steel Crankshaft
Front viscous diff
Reinforced mechanical rear diff
DCCD (Electro-magnetic driver controlled center differential)
4-Pot front brake callipers
Rear twin opposed piston brake caliper
Front & Rear Vented Discs
Inter cooler water spray
Uprated Engine Mounts
Braided Wiring
Aluminium bonnet and boot
Recaro Seats
Tinted rear windows
STi High Level Rear Spoiler
STi Fog Light Blanking Covers
STi Front Spoiler

As I have the Impreza WRX STi 5 Type R WRC Limited I was wondering
if there was any other differance to this and the non WRC LTD eddition
I have the roof vent but just see no other differance.

An educated guess would suggest that the only difference would be cosmetic differences matey.

the Blue seats are a Limited model item on the Version 5 and Version 6, the blue dash and centre console suround is a Version 6 only item.

The STi5/6 TypeR/RA Limited comes with a standard STi 5th gear and RA 1st to 4th.

Was the gearing an option on the LTD? I have a 5th gear that is quite low max speed = about 150@8000.

My old P1 hit 172 mph just before blowing up. (was a clock reading though)
My MY98 & MY2000 could hit the same speed if tuned enough and reved to 8000.
The Type R will only hit just over 150 @ 8000

About 19.4 MPH per 100 RPM. So about 156MPH, as the V5.

You can dow what I Did in my V4 Type r. and put te 5th Gear and Synchro from the same year UK car. It makes the 5th Taller, like the V-Limted (174mph).

But if you do, you will realise just wahta a different step Vlimited have from 4th to 5th, as opposed from 1st-2nd-3rd-4th.

It no too bad and you can still read warp speed in the first four.
