I don't think you can generalise based on the size of the company. I've worked for two large companies, Deutsche Bank and then Barclays Bank and they were totally different. A lot depends on the particular a**hole who is at the critical management layers and whether or not they follow company policy.

My time at Deutsche was hell, having to work with a complete ****. I finally left when it got to th estage that I either had to hit him very hard or just walk out. I decided to walk but oftern wish I done the other.

The contrast at Barclays was amazing. Barclays treated me like a person not just a "human resource" to be used, abused and replaced. They may not always get it right but the bassic policy is in place to ensure that staff are treated with respect from the top down.

Presently, I have both the best and the worst employer all rolled into one.........I'm self employed.

Another ex-EDS employee. Certainly an experience I wouldn't want to repeat.

What i really really hate about my employer is .... Motor Trade (southeast)

They are just looking out for number one ! Themselves

Same here - german company 24 + month and no pay rise - not even inflation - waiting for the New year then dumping them ASAP! Promises keep getting broken, it is beyond a joke now. People are leaving quicker than they can employ replacements!!!

Mate left and now works for Williams F1 team, light at the end of the tunnel!
