i wish i had got the scoob with the payout but unfortunatly they only payed out £4000 for the 6,and what was even more annoying was the fact that when i bought the 6 from dixons(don't laugh)they offered me a policy for £300 so if i happened to write it off in the next 3 years, whatever my car insurance payed out they would top it up to the full purchase price,i paid £9000 for the 6 and i wrote it off 2 yrs 11 months later.i remember my exact reply '(laughing) no thanks,if i write it off i'll probably be dead anyway.

I saw your post on the GTI-6 website at the time. I has recently sold my six the buy a MY00 Classic Turbo. I thoroughly enjoyed 3 years of 6 ownership but decided I wanted a change. Had always wanted an Impreza Turbo and have not regetted the change for a second. What impreza are you smoking and how does it compare to your 6??

i've just got a 2001 bugeye, with prodrive headlights, springs and exhaust on a 51 plate with 24000 miles,i love the car as it is so more refined than the 6 but i do miss my old 6 as it was more thrashable and could be driven on the limit more where as the scooby is harder to make it feel pushed if you know what i mean,i suppose the scooby is just a superior car,i was like you,i always said to myself if i was to go up from the 6 it would have to be an impreza but i didnt intend to get rid of my 6 i liked it that much.

edit :- just read your other thread regarding the speakers, don't know if the classic is the same but i've got focal 165a's in the front of mine so i think they should fit in your doors as well, they have separate tweeters as well.

Cheers for that. I know exactly what you mean about not being able to use the performance all of the time. Fantastic composure at speed compared to a 6 but proper fun always seems to be near the three figure mark!!

Nowhere near as bad as most of these scoobs but I crunched my 106 Quiksilver the day of fittiing a new 16 valver under the bonnet with some naughty lairy cams! going from 75 bhp to 180 bhp at 17 was a little taxing No pictures of the actual damage but just the empty shell (chasis legs and underside got twisted after hitting a tree and boucing accross a feild sideways!) ended up in ultra wide dimma form to be sold shortly after to get my first scoob

I'm beginning to understand why RLV are having a collective hissy fit with modded scoobs....

Best I can do is this in my old Mazda:

Tail-ended in a queue of traffic and shunted into the car in front.

note the "" smiley.....no serious blame being given. Without it being used like in the previous post, it seems to imply something else.

I lost the car on black Ice on a bend and hit the car coming the other way, I was lucky as he had just pulled out from a junction and was stationary, He had just pulled out in front of a bus, god knows if i would be here if he hadnt

Did this about 6yrs ago now, but it still amazes me how lucky i was to get away with fairly minor injuries (only cut my left ear off but the hospital managed to sew it on OK )
