any chance of knowing where the 10 that have booked live in the country?
Is anyone nearer to dover than me that could put us up on the night before we go?
I'm from stockport, so it's going to take me a day just to get down there

Chris

I will send an email out to everyone soon with details of everyone else that is going - if that's ok with all of us.

Cheers

while I'm here, and to get a jump on preparation, what do I need to do to my car for preparing it for euro travel?
I'll have euro cover on my breakdown with the CSMA, so that's sorted.
I've heard that in europe you need to carry a full set of bulbs, is that true?
Do you need a reflective jacket like in spain?
And has anyone got a copy of the tom tom 3 euro maps I can "borrow"

chris.

For the bulbs yes, that's supposed to be the requirement, you also need a breakdown "triangle". Not heard of a reflective jacket being a requirement...they might mistake you for a cop!

cheers frenchie, looks like all I need is a triangle so far
I believe it is now law in spain to carry a reflective jacket in your car at all times, and on the spot fines are the penalty if you don't. I was there in june last year, and didn't see any, but when I went back in january, everyone had them drapped (sp) over the drivers seat

Anyone know how to convert HID lights for driving on the right? I've heard the plastic stick-on beam blockers just melt with HIDs. (Are we actually going to be doing any driving after dark anyway?)

AndyC

I would be suprised at melting with HIDS, they use less power (therefore less heat) than standard bulbs. IMHO.

Cheers
