Wow! You guys (& gals ) are so organised!! I've just re-found the route guide which I'd lost already lol! I'm sailing in to Zebrugge at lunch time on the Tuesday, so will probably just meet up with you later at the hotel in Dole, unless there is a particularly good tail wind

I've got Pioneer sat-nav in the EVO, but it has the habbit of taking me on "interesting" diversions, so I might be better to try to follow you guys...

Cheers

Looking forward to some of this, though

Yep, me too busy today marv. Got to get my money and call into maplins to see if I can get something to quell my feedback probs. Not too intrusive now.
Got my fire extinguisher yesterday, and tried to pop a new bulb in my blown drivers lamp, but the bloody screw wouldn't undue
Liberal spraying of wd40 yesterday and again today should do the trick

I accidently deleted your PM with the location of the meetup with STi-Frenchie. Where was it again?

Sent again Stuart

I will copy it to Terry too, for more general circulation.

What are other peoples opinions of driving in small groups of say 3-4 cars? We could still possibly meet up at intevals en-route (like the one we are proposing in Yverdon-les-Bains).

I'm trying to drum up a bit of local interest but as the summer holidays have just finished I'm not sure how it'll go especially as we'll meet during mid-week. There are a few people showing interest though so we may get a few scoobies coming to see and photograph your P1's, Spec-C's, Evo's etc. at Yverdon.

Good point, trying to keep 14 cars together is going to be tedious. Fuel stops would be a sensible en-route join up.

Good idea about the smaller groups. We need 4 groups then with 1 in each group with Satnav (or at least a passenger that can read a map).

Any volunteers to take charge of the route for 4 groups??

1. Stuart Knight
2. Charlie Whiskey
3. cw42
4. 555JRA

Oooopsss.. I've volunteered you already..

Please post to say if you are happy to take the lead fellas..

Cheers

Also regarding the 2-way radios. Is there anyone that hasn't got one?

I have 7 spare radios that I can lend to you. Please let me know if you want one.

Cheers

Terry, get me off that list my sat nav is not proven yet, and I dont want to have to rely on it with 3 other people behind me
I'm still ironing out the bugs in the system, and will probably see numerous pc crashes on route, not something you want in the middle of the alps!
I'll have it running, but only as a back up in case I get lost and need to drive to the hotels on my own.
chris.

Default NF Octane Booster

I have asked you all before who wanted me to get some - I didn't buy in advance but will do tomorrow. I can get it for £9.00 + VAT if I get more than 10 bottles (+ postage) - this is only open for those on this tour. This is a saving of £4.11 per bottle. The postage to my house I wil share amongst us all - so you should be saving nigh on £4 a bottle.

for details - http://www.nitrousformula.com/productblack.htm

So who wants some and how much. I believe each bottle can treat up to 300 litres and so I will go for 3 bottles. John (555JRA) wants some too and I owe you one already - please confirm how many you want.

I will then bring them all with me on Tuesday and you can pay me on the day.

So how many do you want??

List - please copy and update into your own posts

1. Terry x 3
2.

Cheers

Terry

Anyone who has my route files just noticed a minor mistake in the Day 6 (Nurburgring) route, the Shell petrol station is about 300 yards south of the waypoint I put in the file.

I don't really want to lead a group as I really like to drive at my own pace, but if any one sees me and wants to trust my route planning, can keep up with me, won't moan if I get lost then they are welcome to try and follow

I have a two way radio, what channel/sub channel are we going to use?

I don't mind leading, but not sure about when Christine's driving as she hasn't driven my car much yet. We can sort out groups on the ferry or in the hotel bar the night before. We will be in the SLOW group, especially as mine is pretty standard.

cw42 are you gonna follow us then?

I have a PMR

That says Destinator 3 waypoint files (*.csv) can be written, if that's any help?

555JRA you need to download the POI converter from here http://rjdavies.users.btopenworld.com/ (under products, poi converter) it says you can convert to waypoint csv files, but I must admit I can't spot how in the program itself!

555,
Extract the files I sent you.
Install the poiconverter and run it.
Under options set data type to points
Under File, Open select "files of type" Microsoft Maps Routes, select one of the files I sent you, then File, Save and select Destinator 3 format. Then you need to work out how to get them into your satnav system!
