Just noticed: if any of you have TomTom Navigator 3 on Pocket PC (as I do), the upgrade to TTN v5 is now out - and it includes all the European maps too
Upgrade cost is €68.95 - about £45? - and can (apparently) take up to 5 weeks for delivery, so I wouldn't hang about if you want to be sure of having the upgrade in time. (I tend to think of any quoted delivery time that's more than a week as meaning 'a long time, we've no idea really!').

Andy, have you received the newsetter about it?
Or do you have a link for upgrading, as I can't seem to find anything other than the Q&As here and How can I upgrade to NAVIGATOR 5?

CharlieWhiskey, have you tried just registering with a different email address? Sign up for a free Yahoo or Hotmail account if need be. As long as your product code hasn't been upgraded, you shouldn't have any problem upgrading.

We will be on the Stelvio around the 8th/9th September and the road is closed off at the end of Sept/ beginning of Oct due to snow. But we should be ok when we are there. Plus we have the Nurburgring which will hopefully take max use of summer tyres.

O know I know I am way to late tog et in on this trip and still cant commit due to work commitments but would it be impossible if I just turned up and sorted my own crossings and hotels when I got there. or would this be frowned on.

Stelvio trip
MarvSTI - I also had problems last week - I tried phoning Friday, Monday, Tuesday and kept getting the answerphone, but I had an e-mail from Nick at Dettaglio on Friday 3rd asking if he could take the 2nd payment from the same card I made the first payment from, so don't worry, he's not disappeared off the face of the earth! Might be worth e-mailing him.

Went over Stelvio last week - amazing doesn't come close!
Unfortunatelly, it was the only wet day we had in two weeks, and the top of the pass was shrouded in mist as we climbed up round the hairpins.
We stopped at what we thought was the top of the pass, but on carrying on, we found another 10 hairpins going upwards . Was so misty at the top that we were crawling along at 10mph looking for the marker posts at the side of the road which we could see when they were only yards away
People were skiing at the top of the mountain, but the road was clear of snow. Hundreds of bikes - very brave considering the damp foggy conditions!
The other side was clear of fog, but there were still plenty of hairpins to negotiate.
