Chrome - as per PM, thanks very much for getting mine prioritised - much appreciated.

It's a shame they got the bung sizes wrong though - the up-pipe needs something like a 10mm plug, not 18mm as you were originally informed. Hopefully i'll be able to find something suitable by Monday, but otherwise - well impressed.

 

?? M18 for the collector which deffo fits, and (havent opened my up-pipe yet) and M14 for the up pipe?

it doesnt fit?? are you sure? ****e.

 

Were we getting gaskets with these?
I didn't get any

 

fitted them, but am going to have to refit i didnt fit them too well and have a little bit of a gas leaking out at the uppipe, must have got carried away fitting them (a) btw whats all this about bungs...? what are they meant to do, am i missing something by not having one?? cheers

Chrome - unfortunately not. As you say, the 18mm one is fine, but the 14mm plug is simply the wrong size. Pirtek don't make anything small enough (as i say, it looks like it's 10mm), so i'm hoping B&Q or the local hardware shop will come to the rescue!!

Dyney - you sure? Mine were in amongst the bubble wrap, along with the fixing studs. They're definitely not at the bottom of the box or something?

hi chrome, sorry i missed your call chrome was in the shower (bit late i no), but no i didnt get any gaskets the needing of the bungs might explain why i have some leakage, i'll put the others back on then for the meanwhile, how much are these bungs gonna cost me? cheers, and thanks for letting me know whats going on

bungs should be no more than a couple of quid..
*DONT* buy em from tuners at silly prices (over £10!)...
got to pirtek or thinkautomotive.... think' charge 2.50 minimum delivery charge.. doh whole lot (m18 and M14) came to £4.72

but of course I need a different size now

so that TWO gaskets we've not got.. FFS
Have mailed max to ask for gaskets and correct bung size!

Dyney- will send you mine tomorrow AM.. to help get that build complete!

Max is finding out about the bung sizes from his engineers in the next hour or two...

Not you fault mate, and it shouldn't hold me up.
You did and excellent job with the GB and the price you got was silly hence why it was sooooooo popular!!

I have some std gaskets but not sure if they are a different size.

For the clueless technical people like me, how many gaskets should we have received?

I have two (which are for either end of the uppipe), but no more. And looking at the Gruppe-S website this morning there appears to be supplied gaskets for the manifold as well.

I must confess that when I opened the package yesterday I was more interested in the shiny stuff and only gave the gaskets a cursory glance at the bottom of the box to note that I did have some, but didn't look any further as to actual quantity.

Presumably I need some extras as well?

 

it's my own fault.. in my haste to close this saga, I stupidly didnt double check EVERY box and EVERY pack of gaskets.. i feel rather p'd off and a bit guilty now..

stupid me for expecting Gruppe-S to get everything spot on...

I just checked via phone with P20Spd as to what he got when he ordered manifold and upipe from GS:

if you bought JUST the manifold- you should have: gaskets for heads (ie 2)

if you bought manfiold AND up-pipe you should have:
you should have: gaskets for heads (ie 2)
gasket for collector to up-pipe (1)
gasket for up-pipe to turbo. (1)
4 in total.

As you know I have the manifold only and no gaskets. So missing 2 for the manifold.

Has anyone got the manifold gaskets?
Can you take a pic of them and measure the bore size?

I suspect the std subaru gaskets will fit as the exhaust port on the head hasn't changed in size
But I can't check the gaskets till Monday.

Ok. Just sent a request for a set of header gaskets for everyone who bought a manifold.
Those who me an address, hopefully Max will send it direct to your door.
To the guys who are collecting/have collected- your gaskets are coming direct to me. I can then send them on/you can collect as and when.

Also, the downpipe is about 1" longer than the stock one (I tried doing this yesterday) - I can't move my backbox back sufficiently niether.

I am rapidly getting pissed off ..... gaskets missing, bungs wrong size & now the down-pipe don't fit!!!!!!

Just got back from hols and racing at Shelsley Walsh this weekend. Will collect from your work place friday afternoon if you have all the parts and gaskets at that time. If not, absolutly NO problem, I'll arrange another date suited to us both.

Very irritating when things go wrong like this and the supplier is so far away, but Sh*t happens, and all will be sorted soon!

Guys, give Chrome some breathing space to find out what has happened and get back with the answer.

I think he knows you are upset, but he is probably more so, cos im sure he wrong feels that it is a reflection on him.

It obviously isnt, because he ordered what you asked for, the supplier has just not followed suit.

And no I don't know him, but I can read documents without any predudice and have been let down by people and know what it is like trying to organise a ****-up in a brewery.

You have trusted his honesty on the group buy, trust him now to give you an honest answer to what has happened and what can be done to fix it.

to be honest, i bought a set of headers from gruppe-s about 2 years ago for my old scoob and it only came with up-pipe gaskets, didn`t know the other 2 were meant to be included too. The gaskets that are on the std headers will be more than up to the job on most, if not all of everyone`s headers here
