to be fair- get in touch with AndyF if you know him and ask him what he thinks of the gruppeS headers I'm no tech'ie ..
or check with other tech' members..

I understand its best to have a remap to get the best from headers, and a PowerFC would certainly do that
the limits on your car with headers would be turbo and fuelling imo
seriously, ask Andy and go from there..
if you want in.. let me know
I go to Max when we have 10 people..

oki doke, thanks mate.

ps. I was just checking the customs website & 'Tyres' are 4.5% Duty + the vat, so would 'assume' the headers (exhaust) to be the same.

My headers didn't come with any gaskets but I think they should of

I paid £38 duty on mine when they were delivered by Parcelforce, just to give you a rough indication.

Xbox, if you have got the standard turbo it should be a TD05 and it will love the Gruppe-s headers. With your other mods + an uprated fuel pump and regulator, second hand STI yellow 440 injectors and some form of boost control, either a Dawes Device, Power FC boost controller or AVC-R you should be able to run 1.3 to 1.4 bar boost reasonably safely after Andy has mapped your FC, and I would expect approx 330 - 340 bhp out of this spec depending on the original state of tune, ie engine in good condition and turbo ok.

With your type ra low ratio gearing anything more than this bhp is wasted in my opinion / experience.

Colin.

Colin, many thanks for that. It is the standard turbo with engine, all in good condition & yup the gearbox is something else! I'm up & down gears as often as prossies knickers!

Despite them being a great bit of kit at a great price & looking fab, it's a step too far for my car spec at the moment. The Mrs will be happy at least

Thanks anyway Chrome.

Hi guys, sounds like a deal is working in the background....I would Definitely be up for it if someone a bit more awake could collate all the costs and slap a figure on a thread!
I am currently running an Impreza STI vs2 Type-RA. I have got the Apex'i Power FC + boost controller, Fujisubo Super Ti backbox and de-CAT, HKS-Induction kit and Walbro 255lt pump and FSE fuel regulator. this exhuast mod would be sweet. Headers, up-pipe and downpipe would be good......after estamated price has been confirmed.

Just a wee note, does anyone know what it would cost to import from Japan. My mate is over there the now and priced a front mount intercooler by HKS for less than £500. delivery worked out at £55 to the UK.

hi chris
no one's asleep, I cant get prices until we have 10 people.
as said umpteen times above

I'll say it again- when we have 10 people who know exactly what they want, Max can give us a solid figure..

Hi chrome,

I will take the manifold, up-pipe and down-pipe to suit a 1995 WRX STI Version2 type-RA.
Send me an E-mail to confirm once you have 10 people in for it.

ScoobyDoo69- not sure mate?
um, I wouldnt have thought so.. *but* I would check with one of the more techy' types in drivetrain ASAP on here!!!

PM me once you have decided for sure, then will pass onto max ASAP!!

*edited to add:

I would have thought that the magnex upipe wont hinder flow too much.. might be worth asking in drivetrain anyway and hopefully get one or more of the 'usual suspects' to answer properly and clarify fully - unlike me!

Cool

ok- heres the crack..
got an email from Max:

Sorry we don't supply the bolt to plug the sensor bungs... they are a 14x1.5
and 18x1.5 pattern so you shouldn't have a hard time finding them at your local hardware store
For a groupbuy to international location we would need to process it as a
single order.. meaning one payment and one delivery location.

Groupbuy pricing is $300/manifold + shipping (depends on final quantity)...
its ~$4/kg (each manifold is ~10kg)

I have asked about pricing for the up-pipe, but I have just realised-

GimmeMore/Edinburgh Chris-
I dont think they do a Downpipe!

I'm waiting for Max to get back to me on that..., but don't be surprised if they don't do one.. I should have noticed before when people asked for one... after all the GB was meant to be manifold and up-pipe after all. We shall see what Max has to say.

doh! ..

If we want to go ahead at that kind of price, I would need cheques from everyone in advance (to cover my CC payment)
Cheques would need to allow for:

parts-
manifold = $300
up-pipe = $info pending
shipping @ $4/kg (manifolds are 10kg)
Duty of approx 5% ?
Delivery in the UK - Parcelforce
(choose a rate - http://www.pfwwsg.royalmail.com)

So, for manifold and shipping ONLY-
we are looking at £191 approx + parcelforce cost (approx £20 for next day by noon)

THIS IS MINUS VAT !!! *
(and assuming duty @ 5%).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
* Potentially, we might not have to pay VAT of 17.5 % - seeing as the goods originate in the US.. not sure if we get charged local US sales tax.. if we do, I think we can circumvent paying UK VAT as we already paid the US tax.. will have to check with the revenue/HMCE for sure.. any tax advisors out there plz feel free to correct me

Will post prices for headers+upipe when I get it

Last edited by chrome; Jul 21, 2004 at 12:51 PM. Reason: coz I pasted in the wrong price!!!!! 191 is the correct one!

Sensor bungs? Pardon my ignorance, but will i need those then?

Also, do you think we're likely to see the goods before September? I'm happy to collect mine within reason, or are you in the middle of nowhere, chrome?!

I have asked Max for prices on DP and UP

They havent confirmed *exact* model compatability, altho I sent your details...
I think if it fits a scoob, it fits

their manifold and upipe fits either a classic or new shape.. no justy tho
will post up other prices as soon as I get them.

I was quoted including downpipe .... so I expect that they have them.

Also, where is the stuff being sent from at your end (post code, pm if you like) so I can get the delivery charge sorted & can you get an idea of the weight of each of manifold/uppipe/downpipe from Max pls.
