wr1: Believe me now?
Those of us who've been on here for a while will remember similar rantings about the P1 a few years ago.
Sorry, but I don't base my choice of car on JC's sdvice, and if you like the STi8, then and STi with with DCCD and a few extra bhp for £1k makes the WR1 bloody good value for money IMHO. Not something anyone could ever say about the P1, regardless of how much they loved 'em (and I certainly enjoyed mine).
I suspect that in a few years the next generation of newish owners will be offering the same arguments to put down the new 'special'.
At the end of the day, if you don't want one, don't buy one and STFU.

It doesnt mean anything of real value to compare cars though, just good fun, and these cars are great fun if you can drive them properly.

I would base the choice on what my plans were use wise, i am getting less inclined to throwing £20K plus worth of metal around trackdays these days when you can have as much fun in a £2K shed and not bother paying £200 an event to insure the thing.
I personally like the WR1 a lot, but i also like the Spec C and the Type25.
LOLI would NOT buy a normal STi TypeUK, i hate the way they handle and the engines feel asmatic, even in PPP form. The WR1 PPP is much better. They are still a great car, but i prefer the handling of something with a rear biased power delivery.
