As with the other spectators, for what it costs you may as well. I'll change your listing

We'll be going on to J35 on the M62. There's nowhere to keep an eye on the Mway at that junction IIRC, so it might be best if you start heading east at about 7.40 but keep speed at about 60 ( ) so we catch you up. Let me have your mobile no. (PM) and can phone you as we set off from the J30 meet.
Only other thing I could suggest is that one of us drops out of the convoy down onto the junction where you can be waiting, possibly in the entrance to the services, and then rejoins and you both catch the rest

Dave, can you confirm the route please mate?

I've read through the thread, and there appears to be quite a few going from J30 (me too), but there is nothing about the route..

The Rally Drive site itself doesn't have any links to where it is, but I've found this to help.

Is the plan to go down the M18 to the M180 up into S****horpe (I can't believe the software has edited the intersting bit from S****thorpe!!!!) and down the A159 or are we going straight off onto the A15 and finally along the B1205?

I've not done the trip for some time (used to live south of Lincoln) so I do not know the better route for Optimax. The A15 has the better overtaking oppurtunities if we get split up, and comes straight off the M180, not like the A159 which means heading north and then a trip through the centre of S****horpe to join the A159 and has more chances of us getting split up..

Over to you 'organisationalmeister'

ps.. I've got a Road Angel for the cameras ... if no one else has..

Cheers! (Dad, is it saturday yet?)

RallyDrive is situated one and a half miles east of Blyton village on the B1205.

I know what you're saying about the potential for splitting up in Scunny, but it will take us past the only Optimax site in the area, and give everyone a chance to top off their tanks. If no-one thinks it's necessary then we'll go down the A15 (Sgt Cook on point with enemy detection equipment ) as it is a little easier. I'll print off both variants and supply a copy to all in the convoy and we can decide on the morning. If some haven't got a full tank on the outset they will need to top up though. I also thought it would give people a chance to ID where the garage is for mid-day refuelling.

PS. I'll add you to the convoy list.

Thumbs up

Even I I fill up before I set off, I'll only have enough left in my tank for about another 120 miles or so after we get there

roughly how far is it to the track ?

I'm easy really, dont mind which way we go, as long as non of us run out.

Looking forward to it, cheers for arranging it Dave

Phil

PS.. Where were you today Al? thought you were going to well lane

It's about 50-60 miles, so allow max 120 round trip (cruising mpg 18-24mpg). Add in X laps of 1.25 mile circuit (at lousy mpg) and a fill up will probably be required by most at some point so we may as well arrive with full tanks. I doubt that the mid-day fill up will be required if we do, so we might need to call back through Scunny on our way home. If we can build it to the size of the NBO we might get Shell to turn up with cheap 'Max as a promo, LOL.

Hmm.. what about singling out a shell station and sorting out a group buy on optimax ??

still.. if I thought about the MPG I wouldn't have bought a scoob.

see ya all next weekend

Phil..

PS.. Dave, seeing as I'm crap with directions, what about I meet you in Gildersome or somewhere local for the drive over ?

Sgt Cook, ready for duty... sah!!

I'll be filling up before I go. So a top up in Scunny (50 miles from Wakey) won't make that much difference as the track is only a further 10 miles down the road, and I'd rather do the track with emptier tanks anyway... and pop out to top up if needed.. (chucking in a bit of SUL won't make that much difference anyway)

I'm easy (steady!) so I'll go with the flow...

Phil...

Sorry mate.. my Lads football was way out in Ferrybridge. So by the time we got out out there, beat em 9-0, and got back it was gone 12:30.

Spot of lunch with the missus and out to Batley would have been another hour. All I would have seen would have been the Bacon butty wrappers blowing in the wind..

Next time.. (except on Sat/Sun mornings where football takes priority!!)

corradoboy,

I will be up for meeting up at junction 30. Do you just come off the M62 there and pull up in some layby? Where is this? On the slip road back onto the M62?

I think I will bring a couple of jerry cans, saves driving off for petrol.

All this whingeing about re-fuelling. Even if I fill up in Wakey before the meet at j30 I'll still need to stop off at Ferrybridge services to make sure I get to Scunny. Especially as I'll have all the new ICE to cart about with me

See you all (well, most of you) at J30, 7 (ish)

Might have a fiddle about with some temporary graphics on Friday, if time allows...Scooby Swooshes on an Evo? Just for a laff!

We could use the Clio as a Safety car for when I spin off at the first corner. I'll go out and nick a light bar from the local pikies Tranny van tonight, a bit of glue and some cable ties, wire it into the ciggie lighter, and off he goes...

Ooooh Foster's is going down well tonight.

Sticky,

Dave's aranged an Optimax tanker and Carlsberg tanker interspersed along the route every 17.36 miles.

This should keep both your car fuel topped up and blood content safely down for the day...

I've asked Pinderfields for a paramedic in a Ferarri to tag you, just in case you get them mixed up.. slow down for him...OK?

Don't say we don't care..

Anyone bringing some video equipment to record the days activities? I'll have my digi camera, so will take some shots of everyone at some stage during the day, but would like some video of me if anyone is bringing one.

But then again, the only shot of me at Curbourough when I spun off! So maybe not a good idea?

Madgrip... It's just had it's 10k service, so I should be okay (just ) unless we get lost or deviate from the planned route, of course.

Al... Forget the Opti, wheresh me Carlshberg *hic*

I'll be taking me digicam too. Anyone else bringing one, I would appreciate a chance to dump everyones footage onto my PC, then I can have a play with editing and burn some DVDs for distribution at the next Bridge meeting. Let me know what you think.

I'l have a chat with a few guys at work and see if I can get my hands on a digibeta camera, not sure how they'll feel about it though.

I thimk most of us are the same as you Mick and are going for a fun day out without it costing our cars new rubber, clutches & brakes.
