Well the Garrett is on the car! We have some teething problems but I will be slowly sorting those this week: had some problems with the injectors
and also the wastegate fouling on the steering joint but this will be addressed and then we will be looking at some more mapping and then should be ready for pod on the 29th feb.

List of what we did this weekend:

* Removed Engine for new OS Gilken twin plate push clutch.

* Made up new down pipe to fit the Garrett and mated to a custom made
3" system ..

* Fitted the Garrett with custom oil lines (had to bodge up the pipework for the compressor outlet as we got the wrong size hoses. This will be rectified soon)

* Converted the fuel rails to paralell feed with new 8mm braded fuel line .

* Fitted Walbro fuel pump as a stop gap till we make up out minds
what we are going to use

* Made up pipe (to fit between equal length headers and Garrett exhaust housing) and made the wastgate mounting and wastgate exhaust to go under the car...straight to atmosphere ......... so you will really really know when its on boost lol

*Boosts well! Test run when trying to map it (injector fualt) it made 1.4 bar by 3900rpm but the fueling messed things up ..

Hoping to update soon with more details
P.S the wastegate sounds mad ...........

chris ... massive thanks to Rob

Looking good. Is the vent to atmosphere wastegate setup temporary or permanent?

John..

the wastgate is permanent at the moment ... will see how it goes .... at the moment it vents under the car will think about ether silencing or sending into the down pipe....................... Chris

Coming on nicely Chris, did the oil fittings/ plates come with the turbo?

Did you find one of the power steering pipes in the way?

oi!!!!! Wastegate is permanent!!!!!!

PS pipes, if you remove the clips that hold them together and gently bend the hard pipe it gives all the clearance you need... However, the steering linkage is a f*cker!!

Up pipe and Down pipe are works of art, took some doing though!!!

Turbo crept up to .5bar and then bang.... serious boost!!!!!!!

OMFG!!!!!!!
Bit of an experience today...
Mapped .6bar this morning and went over to a local scoob meet for an hour or so, quite happy with the power so far.
Obviously .6bar was not our goal and not long after we left the meet mapping continued..
Chris has just left mine with 1.4bar of boost and some f*ckin serious power!!
We had a problem with 1.2 upwards which was the rear wheels spinning on boost, i never had that in my scoob and it made a bit of a mess in my boxers when the back skipped out the first time.
Some of you may know the Hatfield tunnel on the A1 (sad moment), down the windows went for some full wastegate appreciation... I am not kidding, it is so loud it has got to have a silencer!!
Anyway, as usual bath n work time... a good day today and roll on a fortnights time when we add the last bits and 2bar.
